Michael Ambrose Griffiths
Dom Ambrose Griffiths (4 December 1928 – 14 June 2011) was a Benedictine abbot before becoming a Roman Catholic bishop in the Catholic Church in England and Wales. Biography Born Michael Griffiths in Twickenham, Middlesex, and educated at Ampleforth College, near York, and at Balliol College, Oxford, he entered the monastery at Ampleforth, taking the religious name of Ambrose, and was ordained to the priesthood on 21 July 1957. In 1976, following the appointment of Abbot Basil Hume as Archbishop of Westminster, Dom Ambrose was elected Abbot of Ampleforth, a post he held until 1984 when he became Parish Priest of Leyland, Preston, Lancashire ( Archdiocese of Liverpool), when he received the title of Abbot of Westminster. In 1991 Bishop Hugh Lindsay announced his intention to resign the See of Hexham and Newcastle on the grounds of ill health. Michael Griffiths (born 18 March 1962) is a former Welsh people, Welsh rugby union player and British & Irish Lions, British Lion,Mike Griffiths playing career
Lionsrugby.com currently coaching Ystrad Rhondda RFC in the WRU Division Two East, Welsh Rugby Union Division 2 East. He plied his trade with Pontypridd RFC between 1997 and 2003, making 73 appearances. Griffiths's father is George Griffiths, a builder, and his mother is Joy Griffiths. He has two sons, Joel Michael and Luc Rhys. They both play for Ystrad Rhondda RFC.

Michael Trevor Griffiths is a retired British police officer who served as Chief Constable and Chief Executive of the Civil Nuclear Constabulary from 2013 until 2019; prior to which, he was an officer of the British Army who retired as a Brigadier. Early life and education Griffiths spent part of his childhood in Carlisle and started his military career as a cadet in the Keswick detachment of Cumbria Army Cadet Force. He studied at the University of Southampton and graduated in politics and international studies. Military career Having attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Griffiths was commissioned into the General List of the British Army as a second lieutenant on 5 August 1978. He transferred to the King's Own Royal Border Regiment on 3 March 1979, He was promoted to captain on 5 February 1985, to major on 30 September 1991, and to lieutenant colonel on 30 June 1998.
