Michael Grant (tennis)
Michael Grant (born February 3, 1956) is an American former professional tennis player. A right-handed player from Long Island, New York, Grant was ranked in the world's top 100 during his professional career. Competing on the Grand Prix circuit, he had best career wins over José Luis Clerc in Tokyo in 1979 and Brian Teacher in San Juan the following year. He was a quarter-finalist at a tournament Sarasota in 1980. Grant made two appearances in the singles main draw of a grand slam tournament. He debuted at the 1980 French Open and had a first round win over Chris Delaney. Ricardo Ycaza
Ricardo Ycaza (born 16 February 1958) is an Ecuadorian tennis player who was a world top 10 junior, a Davis Cup stalwart, and a world top 100 touring professional. Tennis career His most noteworthy achievement was winning the 1976 US Open Junior tournament. In the semi-finals of that tournament he staged a third-set comeback to defeat John McEnroe after saving two match points at 2–5 in the third set and after coming back from 2–4 in the third-set tiebreaker. (Ycaza was to face McEnroe three more times in junior tournaments, winning each time.) In the final, Ycaza defeated José Luis Clerc of Argentina. José Luis Clerc
José Luis Clerc (born 16 August 1958) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world No. 4 singles ranking on 3 August 1981, following a run of 25 consecutive match wins after Wimbledon. Tennis career Clerc represented Argentina for the Davis Cup from 1976 to 1989. He and Guillermo Vilas led Argentina to its first Davis Cup final in 1981 to set up a tie against United States in Cincinnati, Ohio. After Vilas lost the first rubber in straight sets to John McEnroe, Clerc defeated Roscoe Tanner in straight sets in the second rubber to level the tie.
