Michael Gidley
Michael Xavier Charles Gidley (born 11 October 1976) is an Australian politician, and was the Liberal member for Mount Waverley in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 2010 to 2018. Career Gidley is an accountant and former Young Liberals president. He ran for Mount Waverley at the 2006 election, and also contested the safe Labor seat of Thomastown at the 1999 election. Gidley is anti-abortion. In October 2014 he took part in the March for the Babies alongside Jan Kronberg. in 2015 Gidley voted against banning anti abortion protesters from protesting outside abortion clinics. Gidley is a supporter of the Monarchy. Victorian Legislative Assembly
The Victorian Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Victoria in Australia; the upper house being the Victorian Legislative Council. Both houses sit at Parliament House in Spring Street, Melbourne. The presiding officer of the Legislative Assembly is the Speaker. There are presently 88 members of the Legislative Assembly elected from single-member divisions. History Victoria was proclaimed a Colony on 1 July 1851 separating from the Colony of New South Wales by an act of the British Parliament. The Legislative Assembly was created on 13 March 1856 with the passing of the ''Victorian Electoral Bill'', five years after the creation of the original unicameral Legislative Council. Kim Wells (Victoria Politician)
Kimberley Arthur Wells (born 6 August 1958) is an Australian politician. He has been a Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 1992, representing first Wantirna and then Scoresby and Rowville. Wells was the Treasurer of Victoria from December 2010 until March 2013. Wells was born in Leongatha, Victoria, and attended public schools in Bairnsdale, graduating in 1976. Career Wells received a Bachelor of Business, specialising in accounting, post-graduate Diploma of Business and a Master of Accounting from the Victoria University. He worked as an accountant from 1977, and joined the Liberal Party in 1984, holding various positions in the Wattle Park Branch. Wells was selected as the Liberal candidate for Wantirna before the 1992 Victorian state election, and was elected. Electoral District Of Scoresby
The Electoral district of Scoresby was an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was first created after the district of Upper Yarra was abolished in 1945. George Knox was the last member for Upper Yarra and the first for Scoresby. The electorate was abolished after a redistribution in 1976, being replaced by the district of Wantirna. Geoff Hayes then became the first member for Wantirna. After the 2002 redistribution, the electorate was replaced, once again returning as the electoral district of Scoresby. The first member for Scoresby, Kim Wells, was also the last member for Wantirna. The seat was again abolished in 2014 and replaced by Rowville. Jan Kronberg
Janice Susan Kronberg (born 16 September 1947) is an Australian politician and a former member of the Victorian Legislative Council representing the Eastern Metropolitan Region. Kronberg was born in Melbourne and is married with two children and two stepchildren. She received a Graduate Diploma of Training and Development in 2004 from the University of Melbourne. She worked in a computer service bureau and in executive search and selection. She was a lecturer in marketing at the Box Hill Institute from 1996 to 2006. Kronberg was elected to Parliament at the November 2006 election, becoming the only Liberal Party candidate to win the third position on any Upper House ticket. She was re-elected again in November 2010. Electoral District Of Mount Waverley
The electoral district of Mount Waverley was an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was located in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and contained the suburbs of Glen Waverley and Mount Waverley. The seat was created prior to the 2002 election replacing the normally safe Liberal seat of Glen Waverley. When created, Mount Waverley had a notional Liberal margin of 9.1% but it was won by Labor's Maxine Morand at the 2002 election in a swing of 11.4%. It was one of four seats won by Labor on Green preferences after trailing the Liberals on the primary vote results. Liberal candidate Michael Gidley won the seat at the 2010 state election with a swing of 7.4%. Gidley held the seat until being defeated by Labor's Matt Fregon at the 2018 state election.
