Michael Gibson (Australian Footballer)
Michael Gibson (born 31 October 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy and the Brisbane Bears in the Victorian/Australia Football League (VFL/AFL). Gibson, a half back flanker, was a Coorparoo premiership player in 1984 and played at Fitzroy the following season. He then returned to Coorparoo in 1986 and participated in another premiership team. A member of Brisbane's inaugural VFL list, he spent five seasons with the club. Amongst his 15 interstate matches for Queensland were appearances at the 1988 Adelaide Bicentennial Carnival. He had also been an All-Australian junior for his state. Michael Gibson (British Army Soldier)
Michael Gibson, GC (21 June 1906 – 18 October 1940) was a British Army soldier who was posthumously awarded the George Cross for the conspicuous gallantry he displayed in Coventry on 14 September 1940 in defusing a large unexploded bomb. Prior to joining the Royal Engineers at the outset of the Second World War, Gibson was a miner in Chopwell, County Durham, and had served 14 years within the Territorial Army attached to the Durham Light Infantry. George Cross Following a ''Luftwaffe'' bombing raid on the night of the 13/14 September 1940, two unexploded bombs were detected in a factory complex near Coventry. The area was evacuated and members of the 9th Bomb Disposal Company, Royal Engineers, including Gibson, were called in to defuse them. The first detonated but no-one was hurt. Michael Gibson (September 29, 1944 – July 15, 2005) was a musician, trombonist and orchestrator, nominated twice for the American Theatre Wing's Tony Award for Best Orchestrations. He won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Orchestrations for '' My One and Only'' in 1983. Work Gibson began his career as a studio musician in New York City, often working with James Brown. In 1972 he changed direction, to become an orchestrator. Michael Gibson (born 29 October 1980 in Blackburn, Lancashire) is a TV presenter and documentary director. He presented the ''MTV Select'' television program which aired weekday afternoons on MTV across Europe. Career Early career After spending some time working as a runner at Talkback Thames, Gibson was hired by MTV to work as a presenter and began presenting MTV Select in the UK and Europe in 2006. He then went on to work as a researcher at Betty TV, working on Freaky Eaters. He worked as a freelance editor, working with big corporate clients like Belvedere Vodka and Nokia. Michael Jerome Gibson (born October 27, 1960) is a retired professional basketball power forward who played two seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Washington Bullets (1983–84) and the Detroit Pistons (1985–86).
