Michael Gallagher (writer)
Michael Gallagher (born in New York) is an American writer who has contributed to several comic books, as well as to the satire magazine '' Mad'', to which he has contributed several two-page gags since the mid-1990s. He is the son of cartoonist John Gallagher, as well as the nephew of George Gately, creator of the comic strip '' Heathcliff''. Besides ''Mad'', Gallagher has contributed to '' Sonic the Hedgehog'' (especially in its earlier, more slapstick years), as well as a comic book series based on the TV show '' ALF'', and several works for both Marvel Comics and Archie Comics. ''Back Issue!'' is an American magazine published by TwoMorrows Publishing, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in 2003 and published eight times yearly, it features articles and art about comic books from the 1970s to the present. Edited by former comics writer and editor Michael Eury, the magazine was conceived as a replacement for '' Comic Book Artist'', which editor and owner Jon B. Guardians of the Galaxy are a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The Guardians first appear in '' Marvel Super-Heroes'' #18 (January 1969). The initial roster consisted of Vance Astro, Martinex T'Naga, Captain Charlie-27, and Yondu Udonta. Later members included Stakar Ogord, Aleta Ogord, and Nikki. It was founded by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines, launched as a comic book series before it became a magazine.
