Michael G. Brandt
Michael G. Brandt is a former brigadier general and commander of the Missouri Air National Guard. Career Brandt originally joined the United States Air Force in 1970 and underwent training at Lackland Air Force Base, Laughlin Air Force Base and George Air Force Base. In 1972, he was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base. The following year, Brandt was assigned duty in Iceland. He remained there until 1975, when he returned to George Air Force Base as an instructor pilot. Aside from a brief time at Luke Air Force Base followed by Nellis Air Force Base, Brandt was stationed there until 1978. From 1978 to 1979, Brandt was a weapons officer at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea. Afterwards, he returned to Nellis Air Force Base as a fighter weapons instructor. The Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross also known as the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross or Vietnam Cross of Gallantry ( vi, Anh-Dũng Bội-Tinh) is a military decoration of the former Government of South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam). Armed Forces Reserve Medal
The Armed Forces Reserve Medal (AFRM) is a service medal of the United States Armed Forces that has existed since 1950. The medal recognizes service performed by members of the reserve components and is awarded to both officers and enlisted personnel. The medal is considered a successor award to the Naval Reserve Medal and the Marine Corps Reserve Ribbon, which were discontinued in 1958 and 1967, respectively. If the medal is awarded for periods of service, it is accompanied by an hourglass device. Depending on the length of service, a bronze, silver, gold, or bronze and gold hourglass are worn on the suspension ribbon and service ribbon, indicating 10, 20, 30, or 40 years of service, respectively. The Air and Space Longevity Service Award (ASLSA) is a military award of the United States Air Force and United States Space Force established as the Air Force Longevity Service Award by Air Force General Order 60, on 25 November 1957 by General Thomas D. White, Air Force Chief of Staff. The award was primarily created as an air force equivalent to the service stripes used by other branches of the United States military to denote years of military service. An Overseas Service Ribbon is a service military award of the United States military which recognizes those service members who have performed military tours outside the borders of the United States of America. The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (GWOT-SM) is a military award of the United States Armed Forces which was created through Executive Order 13289 on 12 March 2003, by President George W. Bush. The medal recognizes those military service members who have supported operations to counter terrorism in the War on Terror from 11 September 2001, to a date yet to be determined.
