Michael Droese
Michael Droese (born 9 August 1952 in Ueckermünde) is a former sprinter who specialized in the 100 metres. He represented East Germany and competed for the club SC Motor Jena. He won the bronze medal in 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1974 European Championships together with teammates Manfred Kokot Manfred Kokot (born 3 January 1948 in Templin, Brandenburg) is a former East German athlete, who won the silver medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Ueckermünde
Ueckermünde () is a seaport town in northeast Germany, located in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald, Western Pomerania, near Germany's border with Poland's Police County. Ueckermünde has a long and varied history, going back to its founding by Slavs, the Ukrani, mentioned in 934 by Widukind of Corvey. The name Ucramund appears in documents from 1178. Since May 1, 2013 Ueckermünde has been an officially recognized seaside resort. History Name The name Ueckermünde translates into "mouth of the Uecker". The Uecker River flows from Brandenburg, where it is called Ucker, into the Oder Lagoon. Aleksandr Olegovich Kornelyuk (russian: Александр Олегович Корнелюк; born 28 June 1950 in Baku) was a Soviet athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres. He trained at Dynamo in Moscow. The 100 metres, or 100-meter dash, is a sprint race in track and field competitions. The shortest common outdoor running distance, the dash is one of the most popular and prestigious events in the sport of athletics. It has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1928 for women. The inaugural World Championships were in 1983.
