Michael Doherty (born 20 August 1990 in Lanarkshire) is a Scottish association football, football Defender (football), defender currently without a club following his release from Clyde F.C., Clyde. He is a product of Clyde's youth system. Career Doherty signed a YTS contract with Clyde F.C., Clyde in July 2007, and was part of Clyde's Clyde F.C.#Youth team, Under 19 side. He made his senior debut on the Clyde F.C. season 2007-08, 14 August 2007, coming on as a substitute against Queen of the South F.C., Queen of the South in a 1-0 win in the Scottish League Cup. Doherty made Clyde history on this appearance, becoming the youngest person ever to play for Clyde in a competitive match, at the age of 16 years and 359 days. However, this record was beaten by Connor Stevenson 20 months later. He was released in June 2008 along with the rest of the YTS players. Michael Doherty (29 June 1929 – 21 December 2011) was a Fianna Fáil politician in Ireland. He was a senator from 1987 to 1989. A native of Esker, Ballinalee, County Longford, Doherty entered local politics in 1967 serving as a county councillor for over two decades before eventually stepping down from public life in the mid 1990s. An auctioneer by profession, he was a senator from 1987 to 1989 after securing election to the 18th Seanad's administrative panel. Doherty was closely aligned to then Taoiseach Albert Reynolds becoming a special advisor upon the latter's election in 1992. Michael Doherty White (September 8, 1827 – February 6, 1917) was an American lawyer and politician who served one term as a U.S. Representative from Indiana from 1877 to 1879. Biography Born in Clark County, Ohio, White moved with his parents to Tippecanoe County, Indiana, in 1829, and pursued classical studies. He moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana, in 1848. He attended the county seminary and Wabash College, Crawfordsville, clerked in a store for one year, and studied law to gain admission to the bar in 1854. He commenced the practice of his profession in Crawfordsville, and was a law partner of Gen. Lew Wallace. Mick Docherty
Michael Docherty (born 29 October 1950) is an English former footballer and coach. He is the elder son of Tommy Docherty. Playing career As a player, Docherty started his career in the youth team of Chelsea, but in 1967 he moved to Burnley. He was a full-back for Burnley, Manchester City and Sunderland, before an injury brought an early end to his playing career. Coaching career After his retirement from playing, Docherty joined Sunderland's coaching staff. In the 1980–81 season,he took over as caretaker manager of Sunderland with four games of the season to go. He managed to save the club from relegation with a 1–0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on the last day of the season. They finished 17th, two points clear of relegation.
