Michael Carmine
Michael Carmine (March 6, 1959 – October 14, 1989) was an American actor. Early life Carmine was born in Flatbush, Brooklyn. He graduated from the High School of Performing Arts at the age of sixteen, and went on to study acting at the California Institute of the Arts. Career He made his first film appearance as an extra in the disaster film ''Rollercoaster'' (1977) and played his first speaking part on ''Hill Street Blues'' in 1982. A small role in Brian De Palma's '' Scarface'' (1983) was followed by the role of Snake in Michael Mann's television series ''Miami Vice'', which led to his first major role in Mann's ''Band of the Hand'' (1986), directed by Paul Michael Glaser. On stage, Carmine appeared in both Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of Reinaldo Povod's play ''Cuba and His Teddy Bear''. He also played Papo in Povod's ''La Puta Vida''. ''Leviathan'' is a 1989 science fiction horror film directed by George P. Cosmatos and written by David Webb Peoples and Jeb Stuart. It stars Peter Weller, Richard Crenna, Ernie Hudson, and Daniel Stern as the crew of an underwater geological facility stalked and killed by a hideous mutant creature. ''Crime Story'' is an American crime drama television series, created by Chuck Adamson and Gustave Reininger and produced by Michael Mann, that aired on NBC, where it ran for two seasons from September 18, 1986, to May 10, 1988. The show premiered with a two-hour pilot—a film which had been exhibited theatrically—and was watched by over 30 million viewers. ''Leg Work'' is an American police drama television series created by Frank Abatemarco that premiered on CBS on October 3, 1987. Ten episodes of the series were produced, of which six were aired prior to the show's cancellation. The final episode aired on November 7, 1987. The cable network TV Land later aired the remaining four episodes. ''ABC Afterschool Special'' is an American television anthology series that aired on American Broadcasting Company, ABC from October 4, 1972, to January 23, 1997, usually in the late afternoon on weekdays. Most episodes were dramatically presented situations, often controversial, of interest to children and teenagers. Several episodes were either in animated form or presented as documentaries. Topics included illiteracy, substance abuse and teenage pregnancy. The series won 51 Daytime Emmy Awards during its 25-year run.
