Michael Andrews (artist)
Michael James Andrews (30 October 1928 – 19 July 1995) was a British painter. Life and work Michael Andrews was born in Norwich, England, the second child of Thomas Victor Andrews and his wife Gertrude Emma Green. During his last year at school Andrews attended Saturday morning classes at the Norwich School of Art where he studied painting in oils with Leslie Davenport. He completed his National service between 1947 and 1949, nineteen months of which was spent in Egypt. From 1949 to 1953 he studied at the Slade School of Fine Art under William Coldstream, Lucian Freud, William Townsend and Lawrence Gowing. Fellow students and friends there included Victor Willing, Keith Sutton, Diana Cumming, Euan Uglow and Craigie Aitchison. In 1953 he spent six months in Italy at the British School at Rome after receiving a Rome Scholarship in Painting. From 1958 he taught at the Slade and Chelsea School of Art. Michael Andrews (musician)
Michael Andrews, also known as Elgin Park, is an American multi-instrumental musician, producer, and film score composer. He is best known for a cover version of the Tears for Fears song "Mad World", which he recorded with Gary Jules for the ''Donnie Darko'' soundtrack, and which became the 2003 UK Christmas number one. He is a founding member of the San Diego soul-jazz band The Greyboy Allstars, where he goes by the moniker Elgin Park. Soundtrack production After joining The Greyboy Allstars following the dissolution of his band The Origin, Andrews fell into film score composition by chance in 1998 when The Greyboy Allstars were asked to score Jake Kasdan's first feature ''Zero Effect'' and worked on the music for the highly regarded (though short-lived) TV series, ''Freaks and Geeks''. Michael Andrews (rugby League)
Michael Andrews is an Australian former rugby league footballer, a lock forward who played in the late 1980s and early 1990s and captained the South Sydney in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. Playing career Andrews made his first grade debut for South Sydney against Parramatta in round 3 of the 1984 season at Redfern Oval. Andrews played in both of South Sydney's finals games in that season. Andrews played for Souths in their subsequent finals campaigns in 1986, 1987 and 1989, the latter of which is when the club claimed the minor premiership. In 1990, Andrews only made 2 appearances as Souths suffered one of their worst seasons on the field and also one of the worst form slumps as they went from minor premiers to wooden spooners. Andrews played with Souths until the end of 1993. His last three seasons at Souths saw the club finish 14th three years in a row. Mickey Andrews (born May 20, 1942) is a former American football coach. He is most known for his tenure as the defensive coordinator at Florida State for 26 seasons, from 1984 to 2009, under head coach Bobby Bowden. Andrews also served as the head football coach at Livingston University—now known as the University of West Alabama from 1970 to 1972 and at the University of North Alabama from 1973 to 1976. College At the University of Alabama, Andrews earned second-team All-America honors as a wide receiver and defensive back. Andrews was also on two Alabama national championship teams (1961 and 1964) and played in three New Year's Day bowl games. In college baseball, Andrews was an All-SEC choice. In 1964, he received the Hugo Friedman Award as Alabama's best all-around athlete.
