Michael Adams (Wisconsin Politician)
Michael "Mic" Adams (October 28, 1831 – December 24, 1903) was an American businessman and politician. Born in Western, New York, Adams moved with his parents to Jefferson County, Wisconsin Territory in 1840. They moved to Elba, Wisconsin in 1845. In 1873, Adams started an insurance and real estate business in Columbus, Wisconsin. He served in local government offices. Wisconsin Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. From 1848 to 1853 there were 66 assembly districts; from 1854 to 1856, 82 districts; from 1857 to 1861, 97 districts; and from 1862 to 1972, 100 districts. Western is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 1,951 at the 2010 census. The Town of Western is an interior town of Oneida County, north of Rome. History The town was first settled ''circa'' 1789. The Town of Western was formed in 1797 from the Town of Steuben. In 1811, part of Western was used to form the newer Town of Lee. Elba is a town in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,086 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Astico and Danville are located in the town.
