Micha Hancock
Micha Danielle Hancock (born November 10, 1992) is an American indoor volleyball player for the United States women's national volleyball team. Hancock played setter for the Penn State women's volleyball team, and won back-to-back national championships in 2013 and 2014. Hancock won gold with the national team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Career High school Hancock played volleyball for Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. She guided her team to the 2007, 2009 and 2010 Oklahoma 6A State Championship, was a two-time All-Edmond Player of the Year, All-City Player of the Year and MVP of the State Championship All-Tournament Team. She was named the Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year twice. College She played college women's volleyball at Penn State University. 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League
The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League was the second edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, an annual international women's volleyball tournament contested by 16 national teams. The competition was held between May and July 2019, and for the second time, the final round took place in the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre, Nanjing, China. United States won their second title in the competition, defeating Brazil in five sets on the final, after being 0–2 down. China defeated Turkey in four sets for the bronze medal. Andrea Drews from USA was elected the MVP. Following the results of the 2018 Nations League and 2018 Challenger Cup, Argentina was replaced by debutants Bulgaria in this edition. 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament
The 2013 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began on December 5, 2013 and ended on December 21, 2013 at KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. The NCAA selection show was televised on Sunday, December 1, 2013. Qualifying teams The champions of the NCAA's 32 conferences qualify automatically. Twenty-two conferences hold tournaments, while the other ten award their automatic bid on the basis of being the league's regular-season champion. Those that do not hold tournaments are the Atlantic Coast, American Athletic, Big 12, Big West, Big Ten, Ivy League, Mountain West, Pac-12, Southeastern and West Coast Conferences. Penn State Nittany Lions Women's Volleyball
The Penn State Nittany Lions women's volleyball program has had a long tradition, founded in 1976 by Tom Tait, long-time coach of the Penn State men's team, who coached the women's team from 1976 to 1979 and was named a USA Volleyball All-Time great coach in 2007. Russ Rose was the head coach from 1979 to 2021. He led the program to seven NCAA national championships, first in 1999, then in each year from 2007 through 2010, and in both 2013 and 2014. Rose has led the Nittany Lions to appearances in every NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament, making Penn State the only program in the nation to appear in every NCAA volleyball tournament since its inception in 1981. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Youth Olympic Games
The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event for athletes between 15 and 18 years old, organized by the International Olympic Committee. The games are held every four years in staggered summer and winter events consistent with the current Olympic Games format, though in reverse order with Olympic Winter Games held in leap years instead of Summer Olympic Games. The first summer version was held in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010 while the first winter version was held in Innsbruck, Austria from 13 to 22 January 2012. The Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup is a Continental Cup organized by NORCECA with teams from all over America ( North-, South- and Central America, and the Caribbean), that served as a qualifier for the World Grand Prix.
