Mica Levi (; b. 28 February 1987), also known by their stage name Micachu, is an English singer, songwriter, composer and producer. Levi is classically trained and since 2008 has released experimental pop music with their band Good Sad Happy Bad (formerly Micachu and the Shapes), including the critically praised debut album ''Jewellery'' in 2009. In 2014, Levi branched out into film composing, creating the score for the Jonathan Glazer film '' Under the Skin''. Their work was widely praised and Levi received a European Film Award for Best Composer and a BAFTA Award for Best Film Music nomination. ''Jewellery'' is the debut studio album by English musician Micachu, co-produced by Matthew Herbert. It was released on 9 March 2009 on a joint venture between Rough Trade Records and Accidental Records. The album features Micachu's band The Shapes, which comprises Raisa Khan (keyboards and electronics) and Marc Pell (percussion and drums). Reception Upon its release, ''Jewellery'' received generally positive reviews from critics. It maintains a 75 score on Metacritic. Most reviews, both positive and negative, emphasized the originality and experimental, sometimes difficult nature of the music. Good Sad Happy Bad (formerly known as Micachu and the Shapes) is a British band formed in 2008 by Mica Levi aka Micachu (vocals, guitar), Raisa Khan (keyboards, vocals), and Marc Pell (drums). Tirzah is an English singer-songwriter. Her first solo record, the EP ''I'm Not Dancing'' was released in 2013 on Greco-Roman. In 2014, she released the EP ''No Romance'', followed by her single "Make It Up" in 2015. Her debut studio album, '' Devotion'', was released in 2018 on Domino. Her second studio album '' Colourgrade'' was released on 1 October 2021, also on Domino. Personal life Tirzah was born in Braintree, Essex as the youngest of five children. Matthew Herbert (born 1972), also known as Herbert, Doctor Rockit, Radio Boy, Mr. Vertigo, Transformer, and Wishmountain, is a British electronic musician. He often takes sounds from everyday items to produce electronic music.
