Hammad Miah
Hammad Miah ( bn, হাম্মাদ মিঞা; born 6 July 1993) is a British professional snooker player of Bangladeshi-origin. In May 2013, Miah qualified for the 2013–14 and 2014–15 professional Main Tour as one of four semi-finalists from the first Q School event. Hammad Miah is based at Whetstone Snooker Club in Barnet, England. In June 2021 he regained his card through the Q school order of merit for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. Career Debut season Miah's first win as a professional was a 5–4 victory over Sydney Wilson in the first qualifying round of the 2013 Australian Goldfields Open, before losing 2–5 to Gerard Greene. Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah ( – 1 June 1969) was a Bengali journalist and politician. He served as the founding editor of ''The Daily Ittefaq''. He wrote the editorial Rajnoitik Moncho (''The Political Stage''). Most of his journalists were considered leftist as Miah followed the pattern of Awami League. According to journalist and editor of Shongbad Bozlur Rahman, Awami activists followed his editorial more than any actual decision of a meeting. Saiman Miah ( bn, সায়মান মিয়া; born 7 December 1986) is a British Bangladeshi architectural designer and graphic designer. He designed one of the two £5 commemorative coins for the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Early life Miah's parents immigrated from Sylhet District, Bangladesh. Murder Of Richard Everitt
Richard Norman Everitt (6 December 1978 - 13 August 1994) was a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in London, England, in a racially-motivated attack. Everitt's neighbourhood, Somers Town, had been the site of ethnic tensions. He was murdered by a gang of British Bangladeshis who were seeking revenge against another White British boy. He was not a gang member. The murderer was not apprehended and members of the gang fled to Bangladesh. Abdul Hai, Badrul Miah and Showat Akbar were tried in 1995. Miah was given a life sentence, with minimum terms of 12 years. Akbar was sentenced to three years in custody for violent disorder. Abdul Hai was acquitted by the jury on the direction of Mrs Justice Steel, the trial judge, at the close of the prosecution case. She ruled that there was no case for him to answer. Dhir Ali Miah (1 January 1920 – 1984) was a Bangladeshi flute player, composer, director and orchestra conductor. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1986 by the Government of Bangladesh. Education and career Miah studied in Sonarang High School. He took lessons to play flute from musician Sadeq Ali. He joined the Dhaka station of Radio Pakistan as a staff artist in 1948.
