Mga (river)
The Mga (russian: Мга) is a river in Kirovsky and Tosnensky Districts of Leningrad Oblast in northwestern Russia. Mga is a left tributary of the Neva. The urban-type settlements of Mga and Pavlovo are located on the river. The length of the Mga is , and the area of its basin is . The principal tributaries of the Mga are the Beryozovka (right) and the Voytolovka (left). Neva
The Neva (russian: Нева́, ) is a river in northwestern Russia flowing from Lake Ladoga through the western part of Leningrad Oblast (historical region of Ingria) to the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. Despite its modest length of , it is the fourth-largest river in Europe in terms of average discharge (after the Volga, the Danube and the Rhine). The Neva is the only river flowing from Lake Ladoga. It flows through the city of Saint Petersburg, the three smaller towns of Shlisselburg, Kirovsk and Otradnoye, and dozens of settlements. It is navigable throughout and is part of the Volga–Baltic Waterway and White Sea–Baltic Canal. Pavlovo (russian: Па́влово) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Kirovsky District of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Neva River, at the mouth of the Mga River, east of Saint Petersburg. Municipally, together with three rural localities, it is incorporated as Pavlovskoye Urban Settlement, one of the eight urban settlements in the district. Population: History Pavlovo, or Pavlovo-na-Neve, was founded in the second half of the 19th century to serve sand quarries which proliferated in the middle course of the Neva. The settlement was part of Sankt-Peterburgsky Uyezd of Saint Petersburg Governorate (from 1914 on, Petrogradsky Uyezd of Petrograd Governorate, later Leningradsky Uyezd of Leningrad Governorate).
