Mezitli River
Mezitli River (''Liparis'' of the antiquity) is a rivulet in Mersin Province, Turkey The river flows in the mid-southern portion of the Toros Mountains from north to south. It is a short river and the birds flight distance between the headwaters and the mouth is about . Its drainage basin is and during the rainy seasons the length may increase by the contributions of irregular-flow tributaries. Although the river is small it had formed a valley of its own. The villages of Uzunkaş, Turunçlu, Mersin, Turunçlu, Karahacılı, Mersin, Karahacılı and Bozön are in the valley. It flows to Mediterranean Sea in Mersin (Mezitli, Mezitli Municipality) at . Mezitli River, Mersin
Mezitli is a municipality and district governorate in Greater Mersin, Turkey. Mersin is one of 30 metropolitan centers in Turkey with more than one municipality within city borders. Now in Mersin there are four second-level municipalities in addition to Greater Mersin (''büyükşehir'') municipality. The Mayor of Mezitli is Neşet Tarhan. Geography Mezitli at about composes the western part of Mersin proper. Southern quarters of Mezitli are popularly known as ''Viranşehir'' ("ruined city") because of the ruins. Mersin Province
Mersin Province ( tr, ), formerly İçel Province ( tr, ), is a province in southern Turkey, on the Mediterranean coast between Antalya and Adana. The provincial capital and the biggest city in the province is Mersin, which is composed of four municipalities and district governorates: Akdeniz, Mezitli, Toroslar and Yenişehir. Toros Mountains
The Taurus Mountains (Turkish language, Turkish: ''Toros Dağları'' or ''Toroslar'') are a mountain range, mountain complex in southern Turkey, separating the Mediterranean Region, Turkey, Mediterranean coastal region from the central Anatolia#Anatolian plateau, Anatolian Plateau. Charles-Victor Langlois
Charles-Victor Langlois (May 26, 1863, in Rouen – June 25, 1929, in Paris) was a French historian, archivist and paleographer, who specialized in the study of the Middle Ages and was a lecturer at the Sorbonne, where he taught paleography, bibliography, and the history of the Middle Ages. Langlois attended the École Nationale des Chartes and earned a doctorate in history in 1887. He taught at the University of Douai before moving to the Sorbonne. He was director of the National Archives of France from 1913 to 1929. Langlois was a leader in use of the historical method, which taught a scientific form of studying history. His "Manual of Historical Bibliography" was a fundamental manual on how bibliographic methods, which went along with his studies of the historical method.
