François Carlo Mey (born 1 July 2003) is an Italian rugby union player who plays for ASM Clermont Auvergne. Early life François Carlo Mey was born in Italy, from a South African father. He grew up in Parma, where he soon started playing rugby with the city's main club. Kerstin Mey (born 1963) is a German academic and president of the University of Limerick. She was the first woman to head a university in Ireland, on an acting basis, and having participated in an international competition, was appointed to the full position with effect from 8 October 2021. She held positions in a number of universities in Germany and the United Kingdom before moving to Limerick in the west of Ireland. Karl Mey (March 1879 – May 1945) was a prominent German industrial physicist who directed the research and development branch of Osram AG. His presidency of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, starting the year Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, was crucial in that organization's ability to assert its independence from National Socialist policies. Education Mey studied physics and mathematics at the Humboldt University of Berlin from 1897. He received his doctorate in 1902 under Emil Warburg; his thesis was on the cathode gradient of alkali metals. Uwe-Jens Mey (born 13 December 1963) is a German former speed skater, considered to be the fastest sprinter of his time because of his 500 metres supremacy in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was born in Warsaw, Poland. Biography Originally competing for East Germany (and after the German reunification for Germany), Mey's first notable achievement was in December 1983. At the age of 19, he outpaced André Hoffmann in the 500 metres and by doing so, Mey earned the East German title and a ticket to the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. There, Mey finished 8th on his favourite 500 metres distance. In the years after the Sarajevo Olympics he stood firm in the international sprinting sub-top, making step-by-step progression. Karin Melis Mey, née Karin Mey, (born 31 May 1983) is a South African-born Turkish female long jumper. She became a naturalised Turkish citizen in June 2008, and took the name Melis in addition to her birth name Karin Mey. The tall athlete at is a member of Fenerbahçe Athletics team, where she is coached by Charley Strohmenger. Pieter Mey (born 17 December 1948) is a South African politician and former police lieutenant. He has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) since May 2019. Mey is also the Eastern Cape provincial leader of the FF Plus.
