Meulenwald
The Meulenwald, also called the Mühlenwald, is a bunter sandstone hill ridge, up to , in the southern part of the Eifel mountains in the counties of Trier-Saarburg and Bernkastel-Wittlich in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Geography Location The Meulenwald is part of the Moselle Eifel and extends from Ehrang/Quint in the northern part of the borough of Trier in the southwest to the Wittlich Basin near Salmtal in the northeast and between Zemmer to the west and Hetzerath to the east. In the southwest it reaches the Kyll and in the northeast as far as the Salm, both tributaries of the Moselle; the streams of Quintbach and the Bendersbach flow within the hill range. Kellerberg (Meulenwald)
The Kellerberg is a hill, , and the highest point of the Eifel part of the Meulenwald and of the collective municipality of Wittlich-Land. It rises near Dierscheid in the county of Bernkastel-Wittlich in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. At the top is the Kellerberg Observation Tower. Geography Location The Kellerberg rises in the Meulenwald forest, part of the Moselle Eifel. Its summit lies 0.5 km south-southeast of Dierscheid and belongs to its municipality; it is 2.2 km west-northwest of Erlenbach, in the municipality of Hetzerath, and 1.7 km north-northeast of Naurath in the county of Trier-Saarburg. Dierscheid Aussichtsturm Kellerberg
Dierscheid is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a '' Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Geography The municipality lies in the wooded Meulenwald hill range, southwest of Wittlich at an elevation of some 400 m above sea level. Near Dierscheid lies the Kellerberg, at 448 m the highest mountain in the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Wittlich-Land, to which Dierscheid belongs, and whose seat is in Wittlich, although that town is itself not in the ''Verbandsgemeinde''. Moselle Eifel
The Moselle Eifel (german: Moseleifel) forms the southeastern strip of the East Eifel to the left of the Moselle from the city of Trier downstream as far as Moselkern; in the southeast it does not reach as far as the Moselle Valley. It lies exclusively within the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate and is a truncated highland, roughly half of which is forested. Wittlich Basin
The Wittlich Depression (german: Wittlicher Senke or ''Wittlicher Rotliegend-Senke''), less commonly, the Wittlich Basin, is the continuation of the Trier Valley in a northeasterly direction. It is not only recognisable in the terrain as an elongated depression, but also from its geological structure as a basin. From a natural region perspective, the Wittlich Depression (252) is one of three major units of the Moselle Valley major unit group Moseltal (25). The ''Wittlich Depression Cycleway'' (''Radweg Wittlicher Senke'') runs through the region. Rothenberg is a village and a former municipality in the Odenwaldkreis (district) in Hesse, Germany. Since January 2018, it is part of the new town Oberzent.
