Methysos
''MethysOs'' is a Cypriot folk metal band formed in Limassol, Cyprus in 2011. MethysOs has remained active in the Cyprus metal scene since its formation. The band has shared the stage with bands such as Uriah Heep (band), Mnemic and Grave Digger (band). Methysos is the first and only folk metal band from Cyprus. History The band was formed officially in November 2011 when Mario Kenji and George Satyros decided to materialise their passion for folk metal music. The founding members also co-existed in various local bands in the past. The lyrical theme of the band entails myths, legends and folk stories from around the world. The band name is a Greek word for drunkard. In March 2012, the band released its first work, a demo titled ''Beyond Myths and Legends''. The three tracks of the demo, were then recorded again and included in their debut album. Limassol

Folk metal is a fusion genre of heavy metal music and traditional folk music that developed in Europe during the 1990s. It is characterised by the widespread use of folk instruments and, to a lesser extent, traditional singing styles (for example, Dutch Heidevolk, Danish Sylvatica and Spanish Stone of Erech). Uriah Heep (band)
Uriah Heep are an English rock band formed in London in 1969. Their current lineup consists of guitarist Mick Box, keyboardist Phil Lanzon, lead vocalist Bernie Shaw, drummer Russell Gilbrook, and bassist Dave Rimmer. They have experienced numerous lineup changes throughout their -year career, leaving Box as the only remaining original member. Mnemic
Mnemic was a Danish heavy metal band formed in Aalborg in 1998. The band personally described themselves as "Future Fusion Metal". Mnemic have charted in the top 100 in Denmark with ''The Audio Injected Soul'' and were the first Danish metal band to open the Orange Stage at Roskilde Festival in 2004, one of Europe's biggest mainstream festivals. They have worked with Down and Fugees producer Warren Riker on the ''Passenger'' album, collaborated with Roy Z (Judas Priest and Bruce Dickinson producer), and were featured on the soundtracks of '' Alone in the Dark'', ''Echo'' and '' Nordkraft'' films. Grave Digger (band)
Grave Digger is a German heavy metal band that was first formed in 1980 by Chris Boltendahl and Peter Masson. Emerging from the early-to-mid 1980s heavy metal scene of their native country, Grave Digger has been referred to as one of the so-called "big four" of German power metal, along with Helloween, Rage and Running Wild. Band history Early years and split (1980–1987) After various appearances at small festivals, the band recorded two songs for the compilation album ''Rock from Hell'' in 1983.
