''Metal Meets Classic Live'' + ''All G.U.N. Bonustracks'' is a live concert recording by German heavy metal music, heavy metal band Rage (German band), Rage, released as a DVD in November 2001 under name Rage & Lingua Mortis Orchestra. The DVD was released in 2001 by GUN Records without asking the band for permission. It contains a concert from 7 May 1998 in E-Werk (Cologne), E-Werk in Cologne. That gig was recorded by the German TV station Westdeutscher Rundfunk, WDR for their ''Rockpalast'' show. Although the DVD carries a "full live show" label on the front cover, it contains only 74 of the 113 recorded minutes. However, some rare audio material was added to the audio side of this DVD. Rage (German Band)
Rage is a German heavy metal band formed in 1984 by Peter "Peavy" Wagner. They were part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene which emerged in the early to mid-1980s, and have been referred to as one of the country's so-called "big four" of power metal, along with Grave Digger, Helloween and Running Wild. Rage was formed in 1984 under the name Avenger. After releasing their debut album ''Prayers of Steel'' and their ''Depraved to Black'' EP in 1985, the band changed their name to Rage because there was another band in England that shared the same name. "Yesterday" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney. It was first released on the album ''Help!'' in August 1965, except in the United States, where it was issued as a single in September. The song reached number one on the US charts. Rush was a Canadian rock band formed in 1968 in Toronto, that was comprised primarily of Geddy Lee (bass, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar), and Neil Peart (drums, percussion, lyricist). The band formed in Toronto in 1968 by Lifeson, drummer John Rutsey, and bass guitarist/vocalist Jeff Jones, who was immediately replaced by Lee. Alex Lifeson
Aleksandar Živojinović, (born 27 August 1953), known professionally as Alex Lifeson (), is a Canadian musician, best known as the guitarist and backing vocalist of the progressive rock band Rush. In 1968, Lifeson co-founded the band that would later become Rush, with drummer John Rutsey and bassist and lead vocalist Jeff Jones. Jones was replaced by Geddy Lee a month later, and Rutsey was replaced by Neil Peart in 1974. Before the band was disbanded in 2018, Lifeson was the only continuous member who stayed in Rush since its inception, and along with bass guitarist/vocalist Geddy Lee, the only member to appear on all of the band's albums. With Rush, Lifeson played electric and acoustic guitars, as well as other string instruments such as mandola, mandolin, and bouzouki. Neil Peart
Neil Ellwood Peart OC (; September 12, 1952 – January 7, 2020) was a Canadian-American musician, best known as the drummer and primary lyricist of the rock band Rush. Peart earned numerous awards for his musical performances, including an induction into the ''Modern Drummer'' Readers Poll Hall of Fame in 1983 at the age of thirty, making him the youngest person ever so honoured.
