The Roman circus (from the Latin word that means "circle") was a large open-air venue used for public events in the ancient Roman Empire. The circuses were similar to the ancient Greek hippodromes, although circuses served varying purposes and differed in design and construction. Along with theatres, amphitheatres, and the similar but much smaller stadiums, circuses were one of the main entertainment sites of the time. The Meta River is a major left tributary of the Orinoco River in eastern Colombia and southern Venezuela, South America. The Meta originates in the Eastern Ranges of the Andes and flows through the Meta Department, Colombia as the confluence of the Humea, Guatiquía and Guayuriba rivers. It flows east-northeastward across the Llanos Orientales ("Eastern Plains") of Colombia following the direction of the Meta Fault. The Meta forms the northern boundary of Vichada Department, first with Casanare Department, then with Arauca Department, and finally with Venezuela, down to Puerto Carreño where it flows into the Orinoco. Meta () is a departments of Colombia, department of Colombia. It is close to the geographic center of the country, to the east of the Andean mountains. Meta is one of the districts in the Oromia of Ethiopia. Part of the East Hararghe Zone, Meta is bordered on the southwest by Deder, on the northwest by Goro Gutu, on the north by the Somali Region, on the northeast by Kersa, and on the southeast by Bedeno. Towns in Meta include Chelenqo and Kulubi. Overview Coffee is an important cash crop of this woreda. Over 50 square kilometers is planted with this crop. Margaret Kilgallen
Margaret Leisha Kilgallen (October 28, 1967 – June 26, 2001) was a San Francisco Bay Area artist who combined graffiti art, painting, and installation art. Though a contemporary artist, her work showed a strong influence from folk art. She was considered a central figure in the Bay Area Mission School art movement. Life and career Kilgallen was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up nearby in Kensington, Maryland. Because of her exposure to bluegrass music as a child, Kilgallen became an accomplished banjo player. Kilgallen herself described a personal interest in old-time music. She received a BFA in studio art and printmaking from Colorado College in 1989. After moving to San Francisco, she took up surfing and in 1990 met her future husband Barry McGee, who was also a surfer. After her time at Colorado College, Kilgallen had a few solo exhibitions in New York and California during 1997 through 1999. She also received a MFA from Stanford University in 2001.
