''Intoxicated by Love'' ( fa, مست عشق, romanized: Mast-e Eshgh, tr, Mevlana Mest-i Aşk) is a 2024 Iranian-Turkish biographical historical drama film directed and written by Hassan Fathi. It revolves around two Persian poets Rumi and Shams Tabrizi, played by Parsa Pirouzfar and Shahab Hosseini. Premise The series is a take on the life and career of the 13th-century Sufi mystic and poet Rumi and his relationship with Shams Tabrizi. Hassan Fathi
Hassan Fathi ( fa, حسن فتحی, born 2 September 1959) is an Iranian film director and screenwriter. He's one of the most well known and successful Iranian directors. Fathi is best known for his popular historical TV series. Career He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Shahid Beheshti and a master's degree in directing from the Islamic Azad University of Tehran. Fathi is a creative dramatist and psychologist. He started his artistic activities with playing in college theatre. However, he started his professional activities and entered the world of art since 1989 by writing critiques of theater and cinema in journals such as Soroush, Tamashakhaneh, Donyayetassvir, and Namayesh as well as theater writing and directing. Ala ad-Din Muhammad II (Persian: علاءالدین محمد خوارزمشاه; full name: ''Ala ad-Dunya wa ad-Din Abul-Fath Muhammad Sanjar ibn Tekish'') was the Shah of the Khwarazmian Empire from 1200 to 1220. Hande Erçel (born 24 November 1993) is a Turkish actress, best known for Gunesin Kizlari, Ask Laftan Anlamaz, Halka and Sen Çal Kapimi. Husam Al-Din Chalabi
Husam al-Din Chalabi, Ebn Akhi Tork ( fa, حسام الدین چلبی, ku, حوسامەدین چەلەبی, tr, Hüsameddin Çelebi) was a Muslim Sufi and a prominent disciple of Rumi. He encouraged Rumi to create his famous work Masnavi and contributed to writing and editing the book. Rumi repeatedly praised Husam al-Din in his poetry and letters. Husam al-Din is supposed to have been born in Konya around 1225. His grandfather was a Kurdish Sufi originally from Urmia and buried in Baghdad.
