Wolf Grigoryevich (Gershkovich) Messing (russian: Во́льф Григо́рьевич (Ге́ршикович) Ме́ссинг, pl, Wolf Grigoriewicz Messing, he, וולף מסינג) (10 September 1899 – 8 November 1974) was a self-proclaimed psychic, telepath and stage hypnotist. William Messing
William Messing is an American mathematician who works in the field of arithmetic algebraic geometry. Messing received his doctorate in 1971 at Princeton University under the supervisions of Alexander Grothendieck (and Nicholas Katz) with his thesis entitled ''The Crystals Associated to Barsotti–Tate Groups: With Applications to Abelian Schemes.'' In 1972, he was a C.L.E. Moore instructor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently a professor at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis). In his thesis, Messing elaborated on Grothendieck's 1970 lecture at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Nice on p-divisible groups (Barsotti–Tate groups) that are important in algebraic geometry in prime characteristic, which were introduced in the 1950s by Dieudonné in his study of Lie algebras over fields of finite characteristic. Ulrica Messing
Ulrica Messing (born 31 January 1968 in Hällefors) is a Swedish Social Democratic former politician. She was Minister for Communications and Regional Policy in the Ministry of Industry, Employment and Communications from 2000 to 2006. From October 2006 to September 2007 she was chairman of the Riksdag Committee for Defence. She resigned from the Riksdag on September 18, 2007. She left politics in 2008. Susan Messing (born December 26, 1963) is an American improvisational theatre performer, teacher and author associated with the Annoyance Theater and iO Theater in Chicago. Career A New Jersey native, Susan Messing graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theater. Following graduation, she began performing improvisation at iO Theater, where she appeared on the Harold team Blue Velveeta. In 1998, she was hired as a performer on The Second City mainstage.
