Messiah (band)
Messiah is an extreme metal band from Switzerland. The band has had three vocalists over its existence with vocalist Andy Kaina's tenure the longest. Guitarist R. B. Broggi has been the band's only constant member since inception. Band history Formation, studio album releases and reunion show (1984–2003) Messiah's debut album, ''Hymn to Abramelin'', was released in 1986 through Chainsaw Murder Records. Their second LP, titled ''Extreme Cold Weather'', came out in 1987 and was re-issued on CD three years later by Nuclear Blast. The release also contained the band's debut album. The band then managed to sign to a German major metal label, Noise Records, which released their next album, ''Choir of Horrors'', in 1991. Messiah released two more albums, ''Rotten Perish'' and ''Underground'', through Noise, but disbanded in the mid-1990s. The band reunited for a show in 2003. Brutal Assault
Brutal Assault is an open-air extreme metal festival that takes place in the 18th-century army fortress Josefov, located in Jaroměř, Czechia. It is held each August early in the month from Wednesday until Saturday. The festival started in 1996, originally focused on grindcore. For many years, it was a small event with mainly Czech and Slovak bands performing. It changed location several times and grew into a large event by 2006, when over 7,000 people attended the festival in Svojšice. After moving to Josefov, attendances grew further to 15,000 in 2012 and the festival has operated two alternating main stages since. Currently, Brutal Assault features artists that perform all forms of extreme metal, including some of the genre's most prominent figures, as well as artists with dark and intense styles from genres outside of heavy metal such as punk rock, experimental rock and electronic. Christofer Johnsson
Christofer Johnsson (born 10 August 1972) is a Swedish musician and producer. He is a founding member and the guitarist for symphonic metal band Therion and was previously a member of Carbonized, Liers in Wait, Messiah, and Demonoid. In 2006, he announced he will no longer sing for Therion – though he will continue as guitarist for the group. Inspiration and influences In his childhood, Johnsson enjoyed listening to classical music and gradually became more interested in his father's '50s and '60s rock.
