Messehalle Sindelfingen
Messe Sindelfingen, formerly known as Messehalle Sindelfingen, is a fair and convention center located in Sindelfingen, Germany, which was founded in 1973. Is has one large hall with a 3,000-capacity and area of 8000 m² in total for exhibitions. During the 1970s and 1980s it hosted concerts by many famous artists such as The Who, Deep Purple, Van Halen, Kiss (band), Kiss and Whitesnake. Today the facility is mainly used for fairs and trade shows. During the covid-19 pandemic it was used as vaccination centre for Böblingen (district), Landkreis Böblingen. Messe Sindelfingen got a large competitor in recent years, Stuttgart Trade Fair, Messe Stuttgart, which is the 9th largest fair in Germany and only 15 km away at the Stuttgart Airport, airport in Stuttgart. However, the private owner has maintained its business by offering fairs on a smaller scale and budget and for a smaller and more local audience. Böblingen (district)
Böblingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise) Calw, Enz, Ludwigsburg, (district) Stuttgart, and the districts Esslingen, Reutlingen and Tübingen. History The district was created in 1937 as the successor of the ''Oberamt Böblingen'', which dates back to the Duchy of Württemberg, from the late 15th to the early 19th centuries. Bundesautobahn 8
is an autobahn in southern Germany that runs 497 km (309 mi) from the Luxembourg A13 motorway at Schengen via Neunkirchen, Pirmasens, Karlsruhe, Pforzheim, Stuttgart, Ulm, Augsburg and Munich to the Austrian West Autobahn near Salzburg. The A8 is a significant east–west transit route. Its construction began in March 1934 during Nazi rule as a ''Reichsautobahn'', the section between Karlsruhe and Salzburg having been completed by the time road works were discontinued in World War II. Although most parts have been modernized and extended since, significant sections remain in their original configuration from the 1930s - 2+2 lanes, no emergency lanes, steep hills and tight curves. In combination with today's traffic this makes the A8 one of the most crowded and dangerous autobahns in Germany. Bundesautobahn 81
is a motorway in Germany. It branches off the A 3 at the Würzburg-West triangle and ends near the border with Switzerland. The oldest part of the A 81 between the Weinsberg intersection ( A 6) near Heilbronn and Dreieck Leonberg ( A 8) near Stuttgart was finished in the years 1938 to 1940. This section included the first tunnel built for an autobahn, the first Engelberg tunnel near Leonberg. When Weinsberg-Leonberg was upgraded to 3+3 lanes in the 1970s, the tunnel with its two lanes each and steep grades (up to 6%) became something of a bottleneck. In 1999 a new Engelberg tunnel was opened. Original plans called for the A 81 to be continued northwards skirting the north-west of Würzburg to join up with the A 7, but these plans were later abandoned. Stuttgart Trade Fair
Messe Stuttgart is a convention center next to Stuttgart International Airport, 12 km south of Stuttgart, Germany. It is the ninth-biggest convention center in Germany. The new Messe Stuttgart site, completed in 2007, is right next to the A8 autobahn (highway). The center is accessible from Stuttgart Flughafen/Messe station on the local suburban railway network. Buses also travel to Messe Stuttgart from nearby Esslingen, Göppingen, Reutlingen and Tübingen. There are plans to link Messe Stuttgart and Stuttgart International Airport to the proposed Stuttgart–Wendlingen high-speed railway between Stuttgart and Ulm by 2019 as part of the Stuttgart 21 Project. Whitesnake are an English hard rock band formed in London in 1978. The group was originally put together as the backing band for singer David Coverdale, who had recently left Deep Purple. Though the band quickly developed into their own entity, Coverdale is the only constant member throughout their history. Van Halen ( ) was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1972.
