Message Format Language
Message Format Language (MFL) is a BEA proprietary language to describe the layout of binary data, and defines rules to transform the binary data in typed data. MFL can be used by the Oracle Service Bus ( OSB) to assist in the creation of service types as part of service-oriented architecture In software engineering, service-oriented architecture (SOA) is an architectural style that focuses on discrete services instead of a monolithic design. BEA Systems
BEA Systems, Inc. was a company that specialized in enterprise infrastructure software products which was wholly acquired by Oracle Corporation on April 29, 2008. History BEA began as a software company, founded in 1995 and headquartered in San Jose, California. It grew to have 78 offices worldwide at the time of its acquisition by Oracle. The company's name is an initialism of the first names of the company's three founders: Bill Coleman, Ed Scott, and Alfred Chuang. All were former employees of Sun Microsystems, and launched the business in 1995 by acquiring Information Management and Independence Technologies. These firms were the largest resellers of ''Tuxedo'', a distributed transaction management system sold by Novell. BEA soon acquired the Tuxedo product itself, and went on to acquire other middleware companies and products. In 1998, BEA acquired the San Francisco start-up WebLogic, which had built the first standards-based Java application server. WebLogic's applic ...

Oracle Enterprise Service Bus
Oracle Enterprise Service Bus (Oracle ESB), a fundamental component of Oracle's Services-Oriented Architecture suite of products, provides integration of data and enterprise applications within an organisation and their connected ( "extended" or “virtual”) enterprises. Details This release of Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB) Essentials includes changes in architecture, technology stack, and deployment Oracle ESB is technically an 'enterprise service bus' designed and implemented in an Oracle Fusion Architecture's SOA environment; to simplify the interaction and communication between existing Oracle products, third-party applications, or any combination of these. As a software architecture model for distributed computing it is a specialty variant of the more general client server software architecture model and promotes strictly asynchronous message oriented design for communication and interaction between applications. Its primary use is in Enterprise Application Integ ...

Service-oriented Architecture
In software engineering, service-oriented architecture (SOA) is an architectural style that focuses on discrete services instead of a monolithic design. By consequence, it is also applied in the field of software design where services are provided to the other components by application components, through a communication protocol over a network. A service is a discrete unit of functionality that can be accessed remotely and acted upon and updated independently, such as retrieving a credit card statement online. SOA is also intended to be independent of vendors, products and technologies. Service orientation is a way of thinking in terms of services and service-based development and the outcomes of services. A service has four properties according to one of many definitions of SOA: # It logically represents a repeatable business activity with a specified outcome. # It is self-contained. # It is a black box for its consumers, meaning the consumer does not have to be aware of the s ...
