Meseret Mengistu
Meseret Mengistu Biru (born 6 March 1990) is an Ethiopian female long-distance runner who competes mainly in road running events. She holds a personal best of 2:23:26 hours for the marathon. She represented Ethiopia at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 2008 and 2010, winning a team silver medal at the latter edition. She was the 2015 winner of the Paris Marathon, improving her best by over six minutes in the process. She had her second win over the distance at the 2016 Beijing Marathon. Career Born in Sendafa in Ethiopia's Oromia Region, Meseret began her road running career in 2008. She was runner-up at the Marseille-Cassis Classique Internationale that year and returned to win a year after. The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is a City Marathon (42.2 km) held in Cape Town, South Africa, first held in its current form in 2007. Available distances include the marathon, a 10K, a 5K, and two trail runs of length 22 km and 12 km. Siberian International Marathon (SIM) (russian: Сибирский международный марафон) has been held in the city of Omsk since 1990, when the city was first opened to foreigners. The summer marathon is part of the City Days festivities. It takes place during the week of St. Ilya's Day, the patron saint of Omsk, in early August. The marathon itself takes place during the first Saturday of August. The winter half-marathon is during the January 7 Orthodox Christmas week. Pyongyang Marathon, also known as Mangyongdae Prize International Marathon, is an annual marathon race contested each April in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. It is categorised as an IAAF Bronze Label Road Race. The marathon was held for the first time in 1981 for men, and the women's event was initiated in 1984. The 2009 race was the 22nd event. The Rome Marathon is an annual marathon competition hosted by the city of Rome, Italy. Feyse Tadese Boru (born 19 November 1988) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in the half marathon. Career She made her marathon debut at the 2009 Venice Marathon and finished in tenth place with a time of 2:36:57. Feyse gained her first international selection for Ethiopia at the 2010 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz. She finished seventh on her senior debut at the event and helped an Ethiopian team of Meselech Melkamu, Tirunesh Dibaba and Mamitu Daska to the silver medal in the team race behind Kenya.
