The Morocco Open or Rabat Grand Prix (for sponsorship reasons called the Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem), is a women's professional tennis tournament currently held in Rabat, Morocco. This WTA Tour event is classified as an International tournament and is played on outdoor clay courts. Tímea Babos is the doubles record holder with three wins. Patricia Wartusch, Émilie Loit, Iveta Benešová won both singles and doubles titles the same year. History The event started in July 2001 in Casablanca, Morocco. It stayed in that city until 2005, when it was moved to Rabat the first time. In 2007, the tournament changed location again, this time to Fez. In 2013 it was relocated to Marrakesh, before returning to Rabat in 2016. The tournament is named after Princess Lalla Meryem, the sister of Mohammed VI, King of Morocco. Meryem Koç (born November 28, 1996) is a Turkish women's football goalkeeper currently playing in the Turkish Women's First Football League for Ataşehir Belediyespor with jersey number 13. Playing career Club Meryem Koç obtained her license on December 31, 2009, and started to play in the 2010–11 season as a forward for her hometown team Hatay Dumlupınarspor in the Women's Second League. Meryem Bekmez (born 31 July 2000) is a Turkish race walker specialising in the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres. She is a native of Diyarbakır, Turkey. She was a member of the municipality-owned club of Kayapınar, before she was transferred by Enka SK in Istanbul. Early life Meryem Bekmez was born in Şilbe neighborhood of Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır, southeastern Turkey on 31 July 2000. Meryem Erdoğan (formerly ''Mariam Tanga'' or ''Mariam Hana Dingo'', born April 24, 1990) is an Ethiopian-born Turkish long-distance runner. In 2012 Erdoğan was banned for two years after doping.
