Mert Yücel
Mert Yücel is a Turkish electronic music producer from Istanbul. At the age of 22, Yücel produced the first house music album released in Turkey. He his career singles have included; "Dreamer", released on US and UK labels including Baroque Records, Subversive Records, and Choo Choo Records. Yücel released a 2002 remix of DJ VIBE's track "So Get Up" featuring lyrics and vocals by the Californian songwriter/visual artist, Ithaka (Ithaka Darin Pappas) for (Kaos Records/Tribal America). In 2007, he collaborated with Ithaka on another release entitled "Evolution" for Wiggle Records. He has released more than 54 singles on various UK and US labels. Yücel also runs the record label DeepXperience Productions, which he founded in 2005. The label is mainly focused on house, deep-house, tech-house and their derivatives. House is a music genre characterized by a repetitive Four on the floor (music), four-on-the-floor beat and a typical tempo of 120 beats per minute. DJ VIBE
DJ Vibe (real name António "Tó" Pereira) is a house music DJ. Career Vibe was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and became a DJ at 15. At this age he started to perform in clubs and before long he was playing side by side with big names of the dance scene like Paul Oakenfold, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez and Danny Tenaglia. However, it was his partnership with another Portuguese, Rui da Silva, that propelled him to the top of the house music scene, both nationally and internationally. Together, with Da Silva, he brought life to the project, Underground Sound of Lisbon, which in the summer of 1994 released the hit "So Get Up" (featuring vocals and lyrics by Californian artist/songwriter, Ithaka Darin Pappas) distributed by Rob di Stefano's label, Tribal USA, reaching #1 on the Billboard Club Chart. Ithaka (artist)
Ithaka Darin Pappas (born July 8, 1966), known professionally as Ithaka, is an American-born multidisciplinary artist of Greek ancestry who creates using music, sculpture and photography (both as separate entities or using them in combination with each other). He has published short stories in international magazines and periodicals, which have sometimes been the basis for his travel-oriented lyrical content. In a 2005 article for the magazine Waves, journalist Ricardo Macario described Ithaka as ''The Miscellaneous Man''.
