"Mercy Me" is a song by the Chicago-based rock band Alkaline Trio, released as the second single from their 2005 album ''Crimson''. "Mercy Me" was released to radio on September 27, 2005. It peaked at No. 30 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 89 on the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles. The single was released as a CD backed with an acoustic recording of "Private Eye" as well as "Buried", a B-side from the album's recording sessions. It was also released as a set of two 7" records, backed with acoustic recordings of "This Could Be Love" and "Crawl". The song's music video was directed by Ben Goldman. Alkaline Trio
Alkaline Trio is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Since 2001, the band has consisted of Matt Skiba (vocals, guitar), Dan Andriano (vocals, bass) and Derek Grant (drums, vocals). Founded in late 1996 by Skiba, bassist Rob Doran, and drummer Glenn Porter, Alkaline Trio released its debut single, "Sundials", in 1997. Following its release, Doran departed from the band and was replaced by Andriano. The band subsequently recorded an EP, ''For Your Lungs Only'' (1998), and its debut studio album, ''Goddamnit'' (1998). Mike Felumlee, a native of Crystal Lake, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), is chiefly known as the current drummer for the rock band The Smoking Popes. He is known to a lesser extent for his stint of several years as drummer in the band Alkaline Trio and for his solo music. The Smoking Popes Felumlee was the drummer on all of the Popes albums prior to the live album ''At Metro'', released in 2006 in conjunction with a long-awaited reunion of the band. Reportedly, Felumlee discussed with Popes frontman Josh Caterer rejoining the band for its reunion but declined, due to personal relations between himself and the Popes having become a little tense. The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings.
