Merandy González
Merandy González (born October 9, 1995) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Miami Marlins. Career New York Mets González was signed by the New York Mets as an international free agent in March 2013. He made his professional debut that season with the DSL Mets and spent the whole season there, going 4-1 with a 2.82 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched. He returned to the DSL in 2014 and pitched to a 3-4 record and 3.51 ERA in 14 games (13 starts). In 2015, he pitched for the GCL Mets and Kingsport Mets where he compiled a 4-3 record and 2.57 ERA in 66.2 innings pitched, and in 2016 he played with the Brooklyn Cyclones where he posted a 6-3 record, 2.87 ERA, and 1.33 WHIP in 14 starts. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. They are located in Jacksonville, Florida, and are named for shrimp caught in the area. The team plays their home games at 121 Financial Ballpark, which opened in 2003. They previously played at Sam W. Wolfson Baseball Park from 1962 until the end of the 2002 season. A team known as the Jacksonville Suns competed in the Triple-A International League from 1962 to 1968. The franchise was relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, as the Tidewater Tides in 1969. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is a professional independent baseball league based in the United States. It is an official MLB Partner League based in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. The York Revolution is an American professional minor-league baseball team based in York, Pennsylvania. It is a member of the North Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an independent baseball league, independent "partner league" of Major League Baseball.
