Mike Mentzer (November 15, 1951 – June 10, 2001) was an American IFBB professional bodybuilder, businessman and author. Early life and education Mike Mentzer was born on November 15, 1951, in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. In grammar school and Ephrata High School, he received "all A's", He credits his 12th grade teacher, Elizabeth Schaub, for his "love of language, thought, and writing." In 1975, he started attending the University of Maryland as a pre-med student where his hours away from the gym were spent in the study of "genetics, physical chemistry, and organic chemistry." Jacob Franklin Mentzer III is an American fantasy author and game designer who worked on early materials for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (D&D) fantasy role-playing game. He was an employee of TSR, Inc. from 1980 to 1986, spending part of that time as creative advisor to the chairman of the board, Gary Gygax. He also founded the Role-Playing Games Association (RPGA) during his time with TSR. After Gygax was ousted from TSR at the end of 1985, Mentzer left TSR as well and helped him to start New Infinities Productions Inc. (NIPI). When this venture failed, Mentzer left the gaming industry, eventually becoming the manager of a bakery. John Thomas Mentzer (December 7, 1951 – February 26, 2010 ) was a University of Tennessee marketing and logistics professor and author. Life and career John T. (Tom) Mentzer was born on December 7, 1951, in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in industrial administration from the General Motors Institute, now Kettering University. Susanne Mentzer (born January 21, 1957) is an American operatic mezzo-soprano. She is best known for singing trouser roles, such as Cherubino in Mozart's ''Le nozze di Figaro'', Idamante in Mozart's ''Idomeneo'', Octavian in Richard Strauss' ''Der Rosenkavalier'' and the composer in Strauss' ''Ariadne auf Naxos'', as well as other music of Mozart, Strauss, Rossini, Berlioz and Mahler. The Click Five
The Click Five (often abbreviated as TC5) was an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The original members, most of them students at Berklee College of Music, started on January 1, 2004, and played in various local venues. They then quickly got the attention of talent scout Wayne Sharp (who had worked with the power pop group Candy). The Click Five made their first recording, a two-song demo session, in early 2004 after successful local touring. They released their debut album ''Greetings from Imrie House'' in 2005. Ray Mentzer
Ray Mentzer (August 3, 1953June 12, 2001) born in Philadelphia was the 1976 Junior Mr. America, 1978 IFBB Mr. USA and was winner of the 1979 Mr. America competition. Ray's brother, Mike Mentzer won the rival IFBB Mr. America in 1976 during Ray's Junior title. He was a proponent of heavy duty training along with Mike and although retiring from competition in 1982, carried on training to the heavy duty high-intensity training principles. In 1983, he flew to Florida in order to be trained by Arthur Jones. At a bodyweight of a then unthinkable 250 plus pounds, he added even more muscle within a month, to 260 but leaner. At one time, training for just six weeks to prove the invalidity of the Bulgarian system, he squatted for 2 repetitions. He died from kidney failure, a complication resulting from Berger's disease in Rolling Hills, California.
