The Italian Athletics Federation (Italian: ''Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera'', FIDAL), is the governing body for athletics in Italy since 1906. The Italian Federation, founded on 21 October 1906, on initiative of ''La Gazzetta dello Sport'', as Federazione Podistica Italiana (FPI), has been recognised by International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF), now World Athletics, since its Berlin Congress in 1913. Mario Agosti
Mario Agosti (21 July 1904 - June 1992) was an Italian javelin thrower, speciality in which he was 7th at the 1934 European Athletics Championships. Four-time national champion at senior level. Biography Agosti was also a footballer. After completing his competitive career in 1937 he was first FIDAL coach, then sports manager and first President of the CONI Provincial Committee of Pordenone, the city where he died in June 1992. Carlo Lievore
Carlo Lievore (10 November 1937 – 9 October 2002) was an Italian javelin thrower. Biography He won one medal, at senior level, at the International athletics competitions. He competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics and in the 1964 Summer Olympics. His older brother Giovanni Lievore was also a javelin thrower. He has 42 caps in national team from 1956 to 1971. World record *Javelin throw: 86.74 m ( Milan, 1 June 1961) - holder til 1 June 1964 Olympic results National titles Lievore won the individual national championship six times. Schio
Schio is a town and comune in the province of Vicenza (region of Veneto, northern Italy) situated north of Vicenza and east of the Lake Garda. It is surrounded by the Little Dolomites (Italian Prealps) and Mount Pasubio.
