Men's Indoor Pan American Cup
The Men's Indoor Pan American Cup is an international indoor hockey competition for men and women organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF). The tournament started in the year 2002 for both men's and women's competition. Apart from 2004 and 2008 edition, the winner (for 2002, 2005 and 2010, including runner-up) of each tournament was awarded an automatic berth to the Men's World Cup and the Women's World Cup, as the continental champion. Indoor Hockey
Indoor hockey is an indoor variant of field hockey. It is similar to the outdoor game in that two teams compete to move a hard ball into the goal of the opposing side using hockey sticks. Indoor hockey is played on a smaller area and between smaller teams than field hockey and the sidelines are replaced by solid barriers from which the ball rebounds and remains in play. It is traditionally and mainly played as a pastime by outdoor field hockey players during the off-season or when conditions are unsuitable for outdoor play. Indoor hockey is played in regular national and international championships. The first Indoor Hockey World Cup was organized in 2003. The Women's Indoor Pan American Cup is an international women's indoor hockey competition organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The winning team becomes the champion of the Americas. The tournament serves as a qualification tournament for the Women's Indoor Hockey World Cup. The tournament has been won by five different teams: the United States, Argentina and Canada all have won the tournament twice. Trinidad and Tobago and Cuba only have won one title. The Men's Pan American Cup is a men's international field hockey competition organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The winning team becomes the champion of the Americas and qualifies for the FIH Hockey World Cup. Argentina has won the tournament four times. Canada and Cuba have both won the tournament once. The 2024 Men's Indoor Pan American Cup was the ninth edition of the Men's Indoor Pan American Cup, the quadrennial international men's indoor hockey championship of the Americas, organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. It was held alongside the women's tournament at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex in Calgary, Canada from 19 to 22 March 2024. Argentina were the defending champions, having won their first title at the 2021 edition. They defended their title by defeating Trinidad and Tobago 5–2 in the final.
