Melodifestivalen 2024
2024 is the 64th edition of the Swedish music competition , which is being organised by (SVT) and taking place over a six-week period between 3 February and 9 March 2024, hosted by Carina Berg. The winner of the competition will go on to represent in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, held on home soil in Malmö. Format 2024 sees six weekly shows held in six Swedish cities (namely Malmö, Gothenburg, Växjö, Eskilstuna, Karlstad and Stockholm). Carina Berg was announced as the presenter of the competition on 12 January 2023. Changes to the format were announced on 29 June 2023. A total of 30 entries are taking part in the competition (two more than in previous editions) across five heats. Each heat consists of six songs, with the top two songs directly qualifying for the final, and the third- and fourth-placing songs going to a run-off vote at the end of the fifth heat. Carina Berg
Carina Lilly Berg, during a time ''Luuk'', (born 11 November 1977) is a Swedish comedian and television presenter. Berg grew up in Åkersberga, studied the aesthetics program at Danderyds gymnasium and then went on to study radio at Kaggeholms folkhögskola. She used to be married to and has a son with Kristian Luuk, who she met in 2005 when they shared presenter duties for the TV4 show ''God natt, Sverige'', Berg's television debut. Malmö Arena is a multi-purpose List of indoor arenas, indoor arena in Malmö, Sweden, and the venue for home games of Swedish Hockey League, SHL ice hockey club Malmö Redhawks. Erik Robert Jimmy Jansson (born September 17, 1985) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. At Melodifestivalen 2020 he set a new record for the amount of competing entries by a composer at one contest with six entries. Music career Jansson's music career began when he formed a rock band, The Poets, with some of his friends in 2001. That same year, they were chosen to compete in Melodifestivalen with the song "What Difference Does It Make," but did not make it to the finals. Joy Neil Mitro Deb, (born 14 January 1979) is a Swedish songwriter and producer. He has worked with artists such as Fifth Harmony, JoJo, MiC Lowry and Akon. Nationalarenan, currently known as Friends Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a retractable roof multi-purpose stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. Löfbergs Arena is an arena located in Karlstad, Sweden, situated just above the river delta of Klarälven. It is primarily used for ice hockey, and is the home arena of Färjestad BK. It opened in 2001 following a complete overhaul and major expansion of the previously existing arena Färjestads Ishall.
