Melodifestivalen 2004 Semifinals
Melodifestivalen 2004 was the selection for the 44th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 43rd time that this system of picking a song had been used. Five heats had taken place to select the ten songs for the final, in Karlstad, Gothenburg, Umeå, Malmö and a Second Chance round in Stockholm. The final was broadcast on SVT1 and Sveriges Radio's P4 network. The winner was Lena Philipsson with "Det gör ont" who later that year came in 5th place in Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Turkey with the English-language version '' It Hurts''. Heats The heats for Melodifestivalen 2004 began on 21 February 2004. Ten songs from these heats qualified for the final on March 20, 2004. This was the third year that a heat format had been used for the competition. Anna Jenny Charlotte Perrelli (; ; born 7 October 1974) is a Swedes, Swedish singer and television host. She was the winner of the Melodifestivalen 1999, 1999 Melodifestivalen and subsequently Eurovision Song Contest 1999, that year's Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Take Me to Your Heaven (song), Take Me to Your Heaven". Since then she has released seven albums and multiple singles. Perrelli once again won Melodifestivalen 2008 and represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with her song "Hero (Charlotte Perrelli song), Hero". The Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was the 49th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, following the country's victory at the with the song "Everyway That I Can" by Sertab Erener. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the contest was held at the Abdi İpekçi Arena, and, for the first time, consisted of a semi-final on 12 May, and a final on 15 May 2004. The two live shows were presented by Turkish actors Korhan Abay and Meltem Cumbul. It was the first time that Turkey had hosted the contest, 29 years after the country made its debut, and was also the first time since the contest in Birmingham that it was not hosted in the host country's capital city. Niklas Andersson (singer)
Niklas Per Andersson (born 20 May 1971) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey left winger. In his career, he spent time with several National Hockey League (NHL) teams as well as various minor professional teams in North America, but mostly played for Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien. He is the younger brother of former hockey player Mikael Andersson and the father of Lias Andersson. LaGaylia Frazier (born 16 February 1961) is an American-born Swedish singer who specializes in Soul and jazz. Sarek (band)
Sarek was a Swedish folk-pop band formed in 2002, taking their name from Sarek National Park. They debuted in 2002 with the single "Vinterland" ("Winter land") and in 2003 they broke through with their single "Genom eld och vatten" ("Through fire and water") in Melodifestivalen.
