Melodi Grand Prix 2024
''2024'' was the 62nd edition of (MGP), the annual Norwegian music competition that serves as the country's preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest. It was organised by Norway's public broadcaster NRK, and consisted of three semi-finals and a final, held between 13 January and 3 February 2024. The winner of the competition, with "", represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden. Format The competition, consisting of three semi-finals at the studios 1 and 2 in Marienlyst and a grand final at Trondheim Spektrum, was organised by NRK between January and February 2024 and is presented by and Marion Ravn. Marienlyst is an area in the borough of St. Hanshaugen in Oslo. It is best known as the site of the national headquarters of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), and "Marienlyst" is often used synonymously with NRK. The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is the upcoming 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. TV 2 Direkte (''English: TV 2 Live'') is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen. Subwoolfer is a British-Norwegian pop duo formed in 2021. The two members perform in black suits with white shirts with distinctive yellow stylized wolf-head masks and yellow gloves and ties and go by the pseudonyms Keith and Jim. Gaute Ormåsen (born 20 April 1983 in Brumunddal, Hedmark) is a Norwegian singer and was the Idol runner-up to Kurt Nilsen in 2003. Norway participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. Dollie de Luxe were a Norwegian pop duo consisting of Benedicte Adrian (lead vocal) and Ingrid Bjørnov (keyboard and vocal). Their debut album ''Første Akt'' from 1980 was awarded Spellemannprisen. Norway was represented by duo Dollie de Luxe, with the song "Lenge leve livet" at the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 5 May in Luxembourg City. "Lenge leve livet" was chosen as the Norwegian entry at the Melodi Grand Prix on 7 April.
