Melissa Metcalf
Melissa Jean Metcalf (born February 22, 1996 in Mesa, Arizona) is an American collegiate gymnast. During her club career, she trained at Desert Devils Gymnastics in Mesa, Arizona. She currently competes for the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team. Personal life Metcalf was born on February 22, 1996, in Mesa, Arizona, to Mern and Laurie Metcalf. She has an older sister, Sheridan, who is a gymnast at the University of Washington. In 2014, she graduated from Saguaro High School and started attending the University of California, Los Angeles. Competitive history Club career (2007-14) Melissa began competing at Level 10 in 2007, at the age of 11. She finished 4th at the 2007 Junior Olympic Nationals. In 2008, Metcalf tested for elite and qualified to the Visa National Championships. She finished 21st overall. The UCLA Bruins women's gymnastics team represents the University of California, Los Angeles and competes in the Pac-12 Conference. They currently compete in Pauley Pavilion, Los Angeles, CA. Valorie Kondos Field
Valorie Kondos Field (born Valorie Kondos; August 20, 1959), often referred to as Miss Val, is a retired American gymnastics coach. She was the head coach of the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1991 to 2019, leading the Bruins to seven national championship titles. She is a four-time Conference Coach of the Year, the 2018 West Region Head Coach of the Year, and the Pac-12 Gymnastics Coach of the Century. She is the third most-winning NCAA gymnastics coach, behind Suzanne Yoculan and Greg Marsden. Early life Kondos Field grew up in Sacramento, California. Kondos Field was a professional ballet dancer at Sacramento Ballet, Capital City Ballet, and Washington Ballet. Saguaro High School is a former A+ and Blue Ribbon Schools Program certified high school in the Scottsdale Unified School District in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. Saguaro was opened in 1966. Level 10 (USA Gymnastics)
Level 10 is the highest level in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympics Program. The level is open to women's artistic, men's artistic, trampoline, acrobatic and rhythmic gymnasts. Age Requirements Women's Artistic Gymnasts must have reached their 9th birthday to qualify to Level 10. Men's Artistic Male artistic competitors must have reached their 16th birthday to qualify. Rhythmic Level 10 can only be achieved by qualifying for the U.S. National Championship. A rhythmic gymnast may start competing at Level 5 when she has reached her 6th birthday, and Level 6 when she has reached her 7th birthday.
