Melissa Campbell
Melissa "Mel" Campbell (born August, 1977, Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian journalist, author, podcaster and cultural critic. She is a co-founder of Is Not Magazine and the online pop-culture magazine ''The Enthusiast''. Academia Campbell studied creative advertising at RMIT University, then pursued a Master of Arts degree by research at the University of Melbourne. Her research concerned the Australian cultural figure of the bogan, which she argued does not refer to a social class, a subculture or an aesthetic, but rather is a consensually imagined figure that arises in Australian media and public debate when Australian national identity is perceived as fragmentary or under threat. As part of her research, Campbell has written and spoken on the Jaidyn Leskie murder case, Ned Kelly, the television series '' Upper Middle Bogan'' and the phenomenon of "cashed-up bogans". Brackets
A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Typically deployed in symmetric pairs, an individual bracket may be identified as a 'left' or 'right' bracket or, alternatively, an "opening bracket" or "closing bracket", respectively, depending on the Writing system#Directionality, directionality of the context. Specific forms of the mark include parentheses (also called "rounded brackets"), square brackets, curly brackets (also called 'braces'), and angle brackets (also called 'chevrons'), as well as various less common pairs of symbols. Affirm Press is an independent Melbourne-based book publisher. History In 2010, Affirm Press began publishing several books a year as a part-time operation between Martin Hughes, former editor of '' The Big Issue'', and Graeme Wise, founder of The Body Shop Australia. In 2014 Affirm Press appointed Keiran Rogers as its Sales and Marketing Director, and became a full-time publishing house. Affirm Press publishes a broad range of non-fiction books and a select fiction list. In 2017 they added a kids list. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. History 1970s: Launch and early years 2JJ commenced broadcasting at 11:00 am, Sunday 19 January 1975, at 1540 Hertz, kHz (which switched to 1539Hertz, kHz in 1978) on the AM radio, AM band.
