Mejeriet
Mejeriet, or Kulturmejeriet (the dairy), is a cultural venue in Lund, Sweden, which opened in 1987. It originally started as a co-operative dairy in 1896 by the corner of Malmövägen and the Lund-Revinge-Harlösa railroad. The dairy itself closed in 1968. The venue has a full-service bar and restaurant, a cinema, a music school, 12 rehearsal rooms and two stages that since the inauguration has hosted concerts with music artists such as Jason Molina, Miles Davis, Bo Diddley, Bad Religion, NOFX, Ramones, Primal Scream, Sun Ra, George Clinton, Levellers, James, Alice in Chains, Massive Attack, Dead Prez, Miriam Makeba, The Stone Roses, Iggy Pop, Elvis Costello, Oasis, My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr., Sinéad O'Connor, Beach House, Johnossi, Rebecca & Fiona, The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission and many more. Lund
Lund (, , ) is a city in the southern Swedish provinces of Sweden, province of Scania, across the Øresund, Öresund strait from Copenhagen. Miles Davis
Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926September 28, 1991) was an American trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Davis adopted a variety of musical directions in a five-decade career that kept him at the forefront of many major stylistic developments in jazz. Born in Alton, Illinois, and raised in East St. Louis, Davis left to study at Juilliard in New York City, before dropping out and making his professional debut as a member of saxophonist Charlie Parker's bebop quintet from 1944 to 1948. Iggy Pop
James Newell Osterberg Jr. (born April 21, 1947), known professionally as Iggy Pop, is an American singer, musician, songwriter and actor. Called the "Honorific nicknames in popular music, Godfather of Punk", he was the vocalist and lyricist of proto-punk band The Stooges, who were formed in 1967 and have disbanded and reunited many times since. The Mission (band)
The Mission (known as The Mission UK in the United States) are an English gothic rock band formed in 1986. Initially known as The Sisterhood, the band was started by frontman Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams (both from The Sisters of Mercy), soon adding drummer Mick Brown (Red Lorry Yellow Lorry) and guitarist Simon Hinkler (Artery and Pulp). Aside from Hussey, the lineup has changed several times during the years and the band has been on hiatus twice. The Sisters Of Mercy
The Sisters of Mercy is an English rock band, formed in 1980 in Leeds. After achieving early underground fame there, the band had their commercial breakthrough in the mid-1980s and sustained it until the early 1990s, when they stopped releasing new recorded output in protest against their record company WEA. Currently, the band are a touring outfit only. The group has released three original studio albums: '' First and Last and Always'' (1985), '' Floodland'' (1987), and '' Vision Thing'' (1990). Each album was recorded by a different line-up; singer-songwriter Andrew Eldritch and the drum machine called Doktor Avalanche are the only points of continuity throughout. Kurt Samuel Vile (born January 3, 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He is known for his solo work and as the former lead guitarist of rock band the War on Drugs. Both in the studio and during live performances, Vile is accompanied by his backing band, the Violators, which currently includes Jesse Trbovich (guitar, saxophone), Rob Laakso (guitar, bass, keyboards), Kyle Spence (drums) and Adam Langellotti (bass). The War on Drugs is an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed in 2005. Rebecca & Fiona is a Swedish DJ duo from Stockholm. The duo was founded by Rebecca Scheja and Fiona FitzPatrick in 2007, when they met at a party and started to work and make music together as DJs. Johnossi is a rock duo from Saltsjöbaden, Stockholm County, Sweden, consisting of songwriter, singer, guitarist John Engelbert and drummer, percussionist, singer Oskar Bonde, Oskar "Ossi" Bonde. History Engelbert and Bonde first met when they were 12 and 15 years old, respectively, and started playing together as a duo in 2004. They recorded their first album after only five months as a band, and with only three live shows to their credit.
