''Meja'' is the self-titled debut studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Meja, released in 1996 by Epic Records. After being part of dance group Legacy of Sound since 1993, Meja met Lasse Karlsson, then-manager of Ace of Base, who introduced her to songwriter Douglas Carr, who went on to produce the album. ''Meja'' was a relative failure commercially in Sweden—only charting at number 29—but was a huge success in the Japanese market where it sold 600,000 copies. Meja Anna Pernilla Kullersten (formerly Beckman; born Anna Pernilla Torndahl, 12 February 1969) is a Swedish composer, artist and singer. Among her best known songs are "Private Emotion", a duet with Ricky Martin from his multi-Platinum album ''Ricky Martin'' (1999), and "All 'Bout the Money", which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1998. Biography Meja was born Anna Pernilla Torndahl in Nynäshamn, Stockholm County. She had her stage debut at "Ystads City theatre" at the age of 7. She was brought up in a musical family, her grandfather, Per Lundkvist, was a composer of both classical and contemporary music and her mother, a recording artist as a child before choosing a path as a painter. In 1986, at the age of 16, she moved to Mallorca, Spain, to study. "I Didn't Know I Was Looking for Love" is a song written by Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn of Everything but the Girl. The band originally released the song in June 1993 as a track on their extended play (EP) of the same name, which reached number 72 on the UK Singles Chart. It was covered by English singer Karen Ramirez in 1998, whose version became a chart hit in several countries. is a beach volleyball game by Tecmo released in 2003 exclusively for the Xbox. The game was a departure from the rest of the '' Dead or Alive'' series which otherwise consisted of fighting games. It also marked the first game in the series to have a Mature rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board. The game is set immediately after the tournament in ''Dead or Alive 3'' ended. Gameplay revolves around the women of the ''DOA'' series playing various mini-games in the many locations of Zack Island, a reclusive private resort on an island owned by Zack, the only male character from the series to appear anywhere in the game. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list. William Endfield Steinberg (born February 26, 1950) is an American songwriter. He achieved his greatest success in the 1980s with songwriting partner Tom Kelly; together they wrote or co-wrote the No. 1 hits " Like a Virgin" by Madonna (1984), " True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper (1986), "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles (1989), "So Emotional" by Whitney Houston (1987) and " Alone" (covered by Heart in 1987). Tracey Thorn
Tracey Anne Thorn (born 26 September 1962) is a British singer. She is best known as being one half of the duo Everything but the Girl from 1982 to 1999. She was a member of the band Marine Girls between 1980 and 1983 and since 2007 has been active as a solo artist. Early life The youngest of three children, Thorn was born in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire. She grew up in nearby Hatfield and studied English at the University of Hull, where she graduated in 1984 with First Class Honours. She later took an MA degree at Birkbeck, University of London.
