Meizhou–Chaoshan High-speed Railway
Meizhou–Chaoshan high-speed railway, a passenger-dedicated line (PDL), opened for revenue service on 11 October 2019, connecting two principal cities in Guangdong province, Meizhou and Chaoshan. The long railway has a design speed of . The line starts from a new Meizhou West railway station in the north, passes through Meizhou, Jieyang and Chaozhou connecting with Xiamen–Shenzhen railway and the Shantou line at Chaoshan. Meizhou–Chaoshan high-speed rail is a joint initiative of the China Railway Corporation and Guangdong Provincial Government, its construction required an estimated investment of 14.5 billion yuan. Under construction since 2014, the line has intermediate stations at, Shejiang North, Jianqiao, Fengshun East, Jieyang and Jieyang Airport. Chaozhou
Chaozhou (), alternatively Chiuchow, Chaochow or Teochew, is a city in the eastern Guangdong province of China. It borders Shantou to the south, Jieyang to the southwest, Meizhou to the northwest, the province of Fujian to the east, and the South China Sea to the southeast. G-series Trains
G-series trains () are the fastest train services of China Railway. The trains usually run on dedicated high-speed railways with a designed top speed of . The prefix "G" is pronounced as ''Gao'' in the CR system, which is short for ''Gaosu Dongche'' meaning high-speed EMUs in Chinese. The numbering of G trains are defined by the prefix G followed by a train number. Compared with D-series trains, G-series trains are operated at higher speeds for either part or whole of the journey, and if compared to the D trains sharing the route, may have fewer stops and even overtake these D trains by giving the latter a longer stay at some stations. Shantou, alternately romanized as Swatow and sometimes known as Santow, is a prefecture-level city on the eastern coast of Guangdong, China, with a total population of 5,502,031 as of the 2020 census (5,391,028 in 2010) and an administrative area of . Meizhou West Railway Station
Meizhou West railway station is a high-speed railway station located in Kuigang Village, Nankou Town, Meixian District, Meizhou, Guangdong, China, near the Meizhou–Heyuan highway (part of G25/ G78), and also near County Road 969. It is the northern terminus of the Meizhou–Chaoshan railway, and a station on the future Longyan–Longchuan railway, expected to be completed in 2024. It started service on 11 October 2019. Chaoshan or Teoswa (; peng'im: ''Dio5suan1'' i̯o˥˥꜖꜖.sũ̯ã˧˧ is a cultural-linguistic region in the east of Guangdong, China. It is the origin of the Min Nan Chaoshan dialect (). The region, also known as Chiushan in Cantonese, consists of the cities Chaozhou, Jieyang and Shantou. It differs linguistically from the rest of Guangdong province which was historically dominated by Yue speakers, followed by Hakka and Leizhou Min speakers. Meizhou (, Hakka Chinese: Mòichû) is a prefecture-level city in eastern Guangdong province, China. It has an area of , and a population of 3,873,239 million as of the 2020 census.
