John Meister
John F. Meister (May 10, 1863 – January 17, 1923) was an American baseball player. Meister played two seasons in Major League Baseball, 1886–87, for the New York Metropolitans, primarily as a second baseman. He was listed in the Allentown, Pennsylvania directory of 1888 as a "professional" baseball player. He was the third son of Charles and Louisa Meister. Nicolas Christian Meister (born May 15, 1989) is an American tennis player. Meister has a career high ATP singles ranking of 263 achieved on June 13, 2016. He also has a career high ATP doubles ranking of 180 achieved on September 26, 2016. Meister made his ATP main draw debut at the 2012 Farmers Classic where he qualified for the main draw, defeating Ilija Bozoljac, Rik de Voest and Jimmy Wang in the qualifying rounds. In the main draw he lost in the first round to the fifth seed Xavier Malisse, 4–6, 1–6. Nicholas Meister (born December 25, 1995) is a Canadian curler from Langley, British Columbia. He currently plays lead for the Brent Pierce rink. He is a former Canadian Junior Champion. Career Juniors After skipping his own team in juniors, Meister played lead for the Tyler Tardi junior rink from 2013 to 2017. As a member of the Tardi rink, Meister won the British Columbia men's junior championship in 2016 and 2017. The team represented the province at the 2016 and 2017 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. In 2016, they finished the tournament with a 7-3 round robin record, and won a bronze medal after losing to Manitoba's Matt Dunstone in the semi-final. Michelle Meister (born 1978) is a German field hockey umpire. She was the 2018 FIH Umpire of the Year and was one of the two first women to umpire at the Euro Hockey League. She umpires for the Köpenicker Hockey-Union in Berlin. Umpiring career Meister previously played hockey for 20 years, from the age of 7, until she had to quit because of a herniated disc.
