Meidoun
Meidoun (ميدون) is a village in the West Beqaa District in southern Lebanon. Following the 1982 invasion it was just North of the Israeli security zone. In the late 1980s it had become a Hizbullah stronghold. History On 4 May 1988 the Israeli army launched a 48-hour offensive against Meidoun. UNIFIL estimated that the invading force involved 1,500 soldiers with a dozen tanks, armoured vehicles and Cobra helecopters and that the village was bombarded overnight with over 1000 shells. After several hours of fighting the army blew up the fifty houses that the village consisted of. Over the following days the SLA used bulldozers to demolish the ruins. After the raid Israeli statements claimed 40-50 Hizbullah fighters had been killed. Three Israeli soldiers were killed and seventeen wounded. Operation Law And Order
Operation Law and Order was an Israeli military operation against a Hezbollah base in the village of Maydoun. Background On April 26, 1988, a Hezbollah infiltration attempt at Har Dov ended in a battle during which an Israeli officer, Lieutenant Colonel Shmuel Adiv, a battalion commander in the Givati Brigade, was killed along with the entire Hezbollah cell. In response, the commander of the IDF Northern Command, Major-General Yossi Peled, decided to raid the Lebanese town of Maidun, the known location of a Hezbollah headquarters. As a result, a two-pronged operation was planned. The first, Operation Law, would see a Paratroopers Brigade unit commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Amos Ben-Haim, raid Lebanese villages in the vicinity as a distraction, though it was also hoped that enemy fighters could be captured and weapons seized. South Lebanon Army

Bell AH-1 Cobra
The Bell AH-1 Cobra is a single-engined attack helicopter developed and manufactured by the American rotorcraft manufacturer Bell Helicopter. A member of the prolific Huey family, the AH-1 is also referred to as the HueyCobra or Snake. The AH-1 was rapidly developed as an interim gunship in response to the United States Army's needs in the Vietnam War. It used the same engine, transmission and rotor system of the Bell UH-1 Iroquois, which had already proven itself to be a capable platform during the conflict, but paired it with a redesigned narrow fuselage among other features. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon ( ar, قوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان, he, כוח האו"ם הזמני בלבנון), or UNIFIL ( ar, يونيفيل, he, יוניפי״ל), is a UN peacekeeping mission established on 19 March 1978 by United Nations Security Council Resolutions 425 and 426, to confirm Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon which Israel had invaded five days prior, in order to ensure that the government of Lebanon would restore its effective authority in the area.
