Mehrdud Takaloo
Merdud Takalobighashi (born 23 September 1975 in Tehran, Iran) ( fa, مهرداد تکلوبیغشی), more commonly known as Merdud Takaloo or Takaloo, is an Iranian born British based boxer. Early life Takaloo was born in 1975 in Tehran, Iran. His family later fled the country in the late 1970s after the overthrow of the Shah. His family arrived in the south of England and he is now based in Margate, Kent. Career Takaloo boxed from an early age and won a number of amateur titles. In 1997, he became a professional boxer, losing two of his first seven bouts. At this time he changed trainers and joined Jimmy O'Donnell's gym in London. Takaloo is a showboat who had good head and body movement, but usually ended up looking bruised, battered but unbowed. His gutsy style made him a popular fighter in England. Wayne Alexander (born 17 July 1973) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1995 to 2006. He challenged once for the WBO light middleweight title in 2001. World Boxing Union
The World Boxing Union (WBU) was a boxing sanctioning body. The original WBU was founded in January 1995 by IBF European representative, boxing journalist, actor and former holder of the title of Britain's heaviest man Jon W. Robinson. It sanctioned boxing with various promoters worldwide. Following Robinson's death in 2004, the organization became dormant and was eventually dissolved. An organization serving the same purpose and with the same name, but with no connections to the original, was formed in Germany in 2010 under the leadership of Torsten Knille.
