Megan Mahoney
Megan Marie Mahoney (born February 13, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player. During her 14-year career, Mahoney won the Italian championship three times, in 2009, 2010 and 2012, and the Icelandic championship in 2006. In 2015, she won the EuroCup with ESB Villeneuve-d'Ascq. Mahoney was drafted by the Connecticut Sun in 2005 and played in the WNBA from 2006 to 2007. High School & College Mahoney attended Sturgis Brown High School in Sturgis, South Dakota. As a senior, she was named Gatorade and USA Today South Dakota Player of the Year, High School Girls Athlete of the Year by the South Dakota Sports Writers Association, and Miss Basketball South Dakota. Rapid City, South Dakota
Rapid City ( lkt, link=no, Mni Lúzahaŋ Otȟúŋwahe; "Swift Water City") is the second most populous city in South Dakota and the county seat of Pennington County. The Icelandic Basketball Association Women's All-Star Game was a basketball exhibition game hosted by the Icelandic Basketball Association (KKÍ). Barbara Renee Turner (born June 8, 1984) is a former American professional basketball player currently working as an assistant coach for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Houston Comets
The Houston Comets were a Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) team based in Houston. Formed in 1997, the team was one of the original eight WNBA teams and won the first four championships of the league's existence. They are one of two teams in the WNBA that are undefeated in the WNBA Finals; the Seattle Storm are the other. The Keflavík women's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the women's basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. Penni Ann Peppas (born July 2, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player. She was the first foreign born professional player in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild kvenna, where she won multiple national championships and scoring titles. College Peppas played for University of the Ozarks from 1990 to 1994 and left as the schools allt time leader in total points (2170). Iceland After graduating in 1994, Peppas signed with Breiðablik in Iceland, becoming the first foreign born professional player in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild kvenna. She was a three time scoring champion in the Úrvalsdeild and led the league in assists in 1997. Peppas won the Icelandic championship twice, in 1995 with Breiðablik, while also being named as Playoffs MVP, and in 1997 with Grindavík.
