Megan Gaffney
Megan Gaffney (born 3 December 1991) is a Scottish rugby player from Edinburgh who played in the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship and has competed internationally for Scotland since 2011. She has twice been selected for the Great Britain 7s training squad for the Rio and Tokyo Olympics. Club career In 2020 Gaffney began to play for Heriots RFC. Before this, she played for the Watsonians. In an interview with East Lothian Courier, she commented on her move: ''“It is a really forward-thinking club. I know a lot of the players there and I have watched the team progress.''” Before joining the Watsonians, she had also played for Murrayfield Wanderers and Hillhead Jordanhill. She scored the winning try in the last minute for Hillhead Jordanhill in the 2013 Sarah Beaney Cup Final at Murrayfield against RHC Cougars. Heriot's Blues Women
George Heriot's School is a Scottish independent primary and secondary day school on Lauriston Place in the Old Town of Edinburgh, Scotland. In the early 21st century, it has more than 1600 pupils, 155 teaching staff, and 80 non-teaching staff. It was established in 1628 as George Heriot's Hospital, by bequest of the royal goldsmith George Heriot, and opened in 1659. It is governed by George Heriot's Trust, a Scottish charity. 2020 Women's Six Nations Championship
The 2020 Women's Six Nations Championship was the 19th series of the Women's Six Nations Championship, an annual women's rugby union competition between six European rugby union national teams. Matches were originally scheduled for February and March 2020, on the same weekends as the men's tournament, if not always the same day. Seven matches in the tournament were postponed due to health and safety reasons. The match between Scotland and England was originally scheduled for Sunday 9 February but was postponed to the following day with no public admission due to Storm Ciara. The game between Ireland and Wales was played as planned on 9 February. 2017 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series
The 2017 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series was the top level of international women's rugby sevens competitions organised by Rugby Europe during 2017. The series featured two tournaments, one hosted in Malemort and one hosted in Kazan. Russia won both tournaments and finished as overall champions. Ireland finished third in both tournaments and finished as the series runners–up. The series also served as a 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens qualifier and Ireland qualified for the World Cup based on their performances in the series.
