Megalobox
is a Japanese anime television series. The series is produced and animated by TMS Entertainment and its subsidiary TMS Entertainment, 3xCube and directed by Yō Moriyama, his first directorial work. ''Megalobox'' was created in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the boxing manga ''Ashita no Joe''. Set in late 21st century Japan where boxers wear exoskeletons to fight, the narrative focuses on an underground fighter only known by his ring name Junk Dog, who decides to enter into a boxing competition called Megalonia, in order to defeat the champion, Yūri. The series was broadcast in Japan from April 6 to June 29, 2018, and was simulcast on Crunchyroll. The series was licensed by Viz Media for an English release and began airing on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block in the United States in December 2018. Gearless Joe
is a fictional character from the 2018 boxing anime ''Megalobox'' produced by TMS Entertainment Junk Dog is a Megalo Boxer who fights in an illegal underground ring in fixed matches under the guidance of Gansaku Nanbu, he longs to have a real fight. One day, he encounters Megalo Boxing champion Yuri and decides to defeat him in the competition. Joe enters the ring for his first professional match, but shocks the whole arena by not wearing any gear for the fight, being dubbed "Gearless" Joe, this is all part of Nanbu's plan to have him attract attention. He reppears in the 2021 sequel ''Megalobox 2: Nomad'' as a depressed man escaping from his past while meeting immigrants who he befriends while also coming to terms with the sin he committed. is a Japanese boxing manga series written by Asao Takamori (a pen name of Japanese author and manga writer Ikki Kajiwara, and one that's a variation on his real name) and illustrated by Tetsuya Chiba. The story follows a young man named Joe Yabuki and his boxing career as a Bantamweight. ''Tomorrow's Joe'' was first serialized by Kodansha in ''Weekly Shonen Magazine'' from January 1, 1968 to May 13, 1973 and was later collected into 20 tankōbon volumes. During its serialization, it was popular with working-class people and college students in Japan. In organized sports, match fixing is the act of playing or officiating a match with the intention of achieving a pre-determined result, violating the rules of the game and often the law.
