Meet Me At The Altar
Meet Me at the Altar (stylized as Meet Me @ the Altar) is an American pop punk band formed in 2015. Initially, the three members—all of whom lived in different states at the time—worked on music remotely through the internet. The band went on their first tour in 2018, and were signed by Fueled by Ramen in 2020. History Meet Me at the Altar was formed in 2015 when Téa Campbell met Ada Juarez through YouTube; the latter had posted a number of videos covering pop punk songs, and Campbell subsequently reached out. In time, the two developed a friendship that turned into the band. To locate a vocalist, Campbell and Juarez held auditions online. Edith Victoria was one of the individuals who tried out for the position, submitting a rendition of Paramore's " All I Wanted." Daniel Jason "Soupy" Campbell (born January 17, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer from Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He is best known as the lead vocalist and songwriter for American pop punk band The Wonder Years, as well as the creator of folk punk project Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties. Background and recording After signing to the Fueled by Ramen and releasing their debut EP on a major record label, '' Model Citizen'' (2021), the band initially planned to release their debut album in 2022. However, by June 2022, despite recording progressing well, the album was pushed back to early 2023. The band worked with music producer John Fields and collaborated with writer and producer John Ryan on the album as well. Themes and composition The band described the album and its title as "pay nghomage to the music we loved growing up while reflecting our modern-day lives, sounds, and experiences". Lollapalooza (Lolla) is an annual American four-day music festival held in Grant Park in Chicago. Background and recording After releasing a series of independent EPs, the last being 2019's ''Bigger Than Me'', the band went viral in 2020, partially in part of receiving public endorsements of pop punk veterans Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low and Dan Campbell of The Wonder Years. The band was signed to pop punk and emo record label Fueled by Ramen. After releasing a few stand alone singles through the label, including a re-release of their track "Garden" and the song " Hit Like a Girl", the band began work on their debut EP for the label.
