Bill Medley
William Thomas Medley (born September 19, 1940) is an American singer and songwriter, best known as one half of The Righteous Brothers. He is noted for his bass-baritone voice, exemplified in songs such as "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'". Medley produced a number of the duo's songs, including "Unchained Melody" and " (You're My) Soul and Inspiration". Henry Medley
Henry Medley (1687 – 5 August 1747) was an officer of the Royal Navy, rising to the rank of vice-admiral. Life Medley entered the Royal Navy in 1703, and in 1706 was midshipman of the 80-gun with Captain Price at the relief of Barcelona. He passed his examination as lieutenant on 8 February 1710, and on 5 September 1710 was promoted by Sir John Norris to be lieutenant of ; a few months later he was moved into the 70-gun . In 1717 he was a lieutenant of the 90-gun , flagship of Sir George Byng in the Baltic Sea. Early in 1720 Medley was promoted to the command of , a fire-ship, and on 17 February 1721 was posted into the 60-gun . John Medley
John Medley, (19 December 1804 – 9 September 1892), was a Church of England clergyman who became the first bishop of Fredericton in 1845. In 1879 he succeeded Ashton Oxenden as Metropolitan of Canada. Education and family John Medley was born in Grosvenor Place, London. His father, George Medley, died when John was very young. His widowed mother wanted him to become a clergyman and had him educated accordingly. He began learning Latin at the age of six, Greek at ten, and Hebrew at twelve years old, and attended schools in Bristol, Bewdley and Chobham before entering Wadham College, Oxford in 1823. Leslie Dennis Medley (3 September 1920 – 22 February 2001) was an English footballer who played as a left winger. Born in Edmonton, London, aged 11 he gained a scholarship place at the Latymer School in Edmonton. He played for the school team and was selected for the schoolboys' England eleven. Medley joined Tottenham Hotspur in 1939 and appeared as a guest player for West Ham United in World War II. Luke Anthony Cleve Medley (born 21 June 1989) is an English footballer who plays as a striker, most recently for Lordswood. As a junior, he was on the books of Welwyn Garden City, Barnet and Tottenham Hotspur. He joined Bradford City in 2007, and later the same year scored with his first touch in league football. Charles Robert Owen Medley CBE, RA, (19 December 1905 – 20 October 1994), also known as Robert Medley, was an English artist who painted in both abstract and figurative styles, and who also worked as theatre designer. He held several teaching positions in both London and Rome. Biography Early life Medley was born in London, one of six children to Charles Medley, a highly successful copyright lawyer who was friends with many writers of the day. He was educated at Gresham's School in Holt, Norfolk from 1919 to 1923, before briefly attending the Byam Shaw School of Art. During 1924 Medley studied art at the Royal Academy Schools but soon switched to the Slade School of Fine Art and then completed his art training by spending two years, from 1926 to 1928, in Paris. Samuel Medley (1738–1799) was an English Baptist minister and hymn-writer. Life Samuel Medley was born on 23 June 1738 in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. He was the second son of Guy Medley (died 25 October 1760), who had a school in Cheshunt. Guy Medley was married the youngest daughter of William Tonge, schoolmaster at Enfield; and was a close friend of James Hervey. He was educated by Tonge, his maternal grandfather, and at 14 was apprenticed to an oilman in the city of London. In 1755, however, he obtained his freedom on entering the Royal Navy, from which he was discharged after being wounded in the Battle of Lagos on 18 August 1759. From 1762 to 1766, Medley kept a successful school in King Street, Soho, London, and became acquainted with Andrew Gifford. His works include a large group representing the Medical Society of London. Many prints were engraved and distributed after his paintings.
